Boudová, Linda ; Obstová, Zora (advisor) ; Štichauer, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with inter-sentence relations in Czech and Italian languages. The first part of the thesis focuses on the issue of inter-sentence relations theoretically. First, the basic terms such as sentence and utterance are defined with respect to their characteristics in both languages. Furthermore, the issue of connecting sentences and relationships between propositions is discussed. In the subsequent classification of coordinating and subordinating sentences, the work focuses on similarities and differences in Czech and Italian. The concept of so-called syntactic condensation is also described. In the final passage of the theoretical part, the work focuses on the concepts of coordination and subordination even stylistically. The second part follows the theoretical part practically. In the practical part, first the parallel corpus InterCorp as a source of analysis is briefly characterized and the searching method is described. The corpus analysis focuses on Italian sentences with a subjective subordinate clause and their Czech translation counterparts.
