Mazánek, Lukáš ; Borský, Jan (referee) ; Bartošek, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor work focuses on the analysis of optimization logistic objects in the company, specificaly for packaging management. Identifying the most common problems, their solutions and find ways, they are completely or at least partially avoid. The result is an optimum amount of packaging technic, which allows to reduce the company costs, while increasing the storage capacity of free storage.
Roentgencephalometric study of patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate
Cagáňová, Veronika ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Borský, Jiří (referee)
The present study of orofacial clefts, concretely unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP), is based on the cephalometrics analysis of lateral X-ray films of 23 ten-years-old females and 18 ten-years-old and fifteen-years-old males. This study is aimed at evaluation of sexual dimorphism in the human skeletal and soft tissue profile at the age of ten years approximately. The main aim is to describe development of skeletal and soft tissue profile during pubertal growth spurt in males after secondary bone grafting (SBG) and evaluate the effect of SBG by comparison with sample of patients with UCLP who did not undergo SBG. Lateral cephalometric radiographs were analyzed by using the classical morphometry and in the case of longitudinal study was used the finite element analysis (FESA) in addition. The results reveal that in girls, contrary to boys, more marked basic abnormalities of the cranium and soft tissue profile can be observed. The craniofacial development is satisfactory in patients with secondary bone grafting, there is a marked dentoalveolar proclination and contemporary proclination of upper and lower incisors. Because of marked increasing prominence of the nose, there is an increase of the global convexity of the profile, furthermore. The development of skeletal and soft tissue profile during pubertal...
Development of maxilla and palate in patients with bilateral orofacial clefts after neonatal suture
Jaklová, Lenka ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Borský, Jiří (referee)
Objectives: Early neonatal cheiloplasty is a new modified surgery protocol for treating patients with bilatelar cleft lip and palate (BCLP). Althought there are known a lot of benefits of this surgery, its influence on facial growth is still studied. Goals are to evaluate: (1) palatal morphology before and one year after neonatal cheiloplasty, (2) growth maxilla and palate using classic and geometric morphometry, (3) morphological differences between complete BCLP (cBCLP) and BCLP with combined bridge (BCLP+B), (4) effect of premaxillary size on the growth of maxilla and palate. Materials and methods: Fifty virtual dental models of 25 cBCLP and BCLP+B patients were analysed using metric analysis, a coherent point drift - dense correspondence analysis (CPD- DCA) and multivariate statistic. Two plaster casts were taken from each patient, the first before neonatal cheiloplasty (mean age 4,5 days) and the second before palatoplasty (mean age 11,5 months). Results: The upper jaw segments converge towards premaxilla. This fact leads to reduction of alveolar cleft widht but the upper jaw segments has grown in lenght direction. There is no decrease of the dentoalveolar arc after early neonatal cheiloplasty. The size of premaxilla affects dimensions of anterior parts of the upper jaw segments. According to...
Influence of biological relatedness on human palatal form and shape
Vilímková, Eva ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Borský, Jiří (referee)
This diploma theses deals with the effect of biological relatedness on the morphology of the human palate. So far, the effect of heredity on the morphology of the palate has been studied mainly in connection with clefts, there are not many studies dealing with the morphology of a healthy palate. Within this work, two goals were set. The first was to evaluate the variability of the palatal morphology of biologically related individuals compared to the variability of the palatal morphology of unrelated individuals. The second goal was to evaluate the effect of biological relatedness on palatal morphology. The material for this theses were two samples - a sample of biologically related individuals and a sample of unrelated individuals as a control group. The genealogically documented sample consists of 65 plaster casts of the upper jaw of mutually related individuals of the Czech population. This sample includes 33 men and 32 women. The average age in the sample is 37,65 years. The sample of unrelated individuals includes 52 virtual 3D models of a hard palate. This sample consists of 23 men and 29 women. The average age in this sample is 19,27 years. This theses combines methods of geometric morphometrics and linear regression models. The plaster casts of the upper jaws were first scanned with a 3D...

Influence of nenatal cheiloplasty on the development of the face in patients with orofacial clefts
Dadáková, Martina ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Borský, Jiří (referee)
This study aims to evaluate facial morphology and shape variability of the face in preschool patients with various types of orofacial clefts following neonatal cheiloplasty; in comparison with age corresponding healthy controls. All patients were operated with the same protocol during first two weeks of life. This study is based on 3D facial models analyzes with methods of geometric morphometry and multivariate statistics. Statistically significant differences in the mean facial shape between each of cleft groups and controls were found. Colour coded maps showed, that in patients who have only undergone neonatal cheiloplasty (patients with isolated cleft lip), facial morphology is affected to a lesser extent than in patients with more severe cleft types and underwent palatoplasty (unilateral and bilateral cleft lip and palate). The differences in comparison with controls were in isolated cleft lip patients mostly in the scar area, and also in nasal bridge and chin area. Within cleft types combined with palatal defect, typical differences in maxillary and buccal region were also observed. The differences are not becoming more pronounced in the older age category. Our results suggest that the severity of the defect together with underwent palatoplasty affect facial growth and development more...
New modified method of neonatal cleft lip surgery
Borský, Jiří ; Peterka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Jirásek, Jan Evangelista (referee) ; Měšťák, Jan (referee)
2 2. Abstract Cleft palate is one of the most frequent congenital malformations. The complexity of these conditions requires surgical treatment in several stages. The first stage includes reconstruction of the nose and the lip, and timing is either shortly after birth, or, in about two thirds of centers worldwide this surgery is performed at the age of 3 months. The next stage, palate defect repair, is timed at around 9 months of age, and the final reconstruction of the maxilla is done based on the permanent canine eruption at about 8 years of age. The main objective of our study was to estimate the pros and cons of early surgical approach after introducing a novel modified surgical protocol versus the conventional surgical protocol. The 5 main findings include: 1. A novel surgical procedure to repair neonatal cleft lip was developed, incorporating modification of Tennison protocol by adding flaps acquired from the margins of the cleft. An important contribution is a shorter time both under anesthesia and in the theatre, and resulting reduction of hospital stay from 7-8 days down to 3-4 days. 2. We have compared the biochemical parameters of the surgical wound healing - matrix metaloproteases (MMP) and their inhibitors (TIMP) in the group of children having surgery early in neonatal age and in children...
