It takes as a fact that this group is more endangered by tobacco addiction. Theoretical parts is focused on area of an addiction and smoking. It describes diagnostics of smoking, forms of usage of nicotine and makes clearer health issues connected to smoking. It contains static and epidemiologic data in the World, Czech Republic and selected group of smoker numbers. There are also mentioned possibilities of treatment and chapter about a role of a nurse in tobbacco addiction treatment. Research was based on a questionary. Questions were aimed at an influence of subjects surroundings and demographics variables in connection to smoking ofhealth care workers. Following were respecting known risks connected to smoking.
