Fish community of the Rozkoš water body: results of ichthyological survey in 2013
Vašek, Mojmír ; Blabolil, Petr ; Draštík, Vladislav ; Kubečka, Jan
The report summarizes results of complex ichthyological survey of Rozkoš water body done in 2013. The aim of the survey was to estimate fish species composition, and abundance and biomass of fish on different localities of the water body and within all of its habitats according to valid certified national methodology of fish sampling in standing waters (Kubečka a Prchalová 2006 and Kubečka a kol. 2010).

Methodology for assessing ecological potential of heavily modified and artificial water bodies – a proposal
Borovec, Jakub ; Hejzlar, Josef ; Znachor, Petr ; Čtvrtlíková, Martina ; Blabolil, Petr ; Říha, Milan ; Matěna, Josef ; Kubečka, Jan
Methodology for the assessment of the ecological potential of heavily modified and artificial water bodies of the lacustrine type was developer, including also typology of water bodies. The selection of indicator metrics was based on statistical analyses of the sensitivity of each of the indicators towards the most significant stressor – eutrophication. According to these results, biological communities and their indicators were selected to comply with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC).
What do the fish say about the quality of aquatic ecosystems

The first Czech methodology for the assessment of ecological potential of heavily modified water bodies and artificial water bodies based on fish communities was developed. The first step of developing the methodology was preparing the typology of water bodies. The typology distinguishes between water bodies of different altitudes and with and without thermal stratification. Fish were sampled by multimesh gillnets following European standard procedures. The selection of fish metrics was based on statistical analyses in which metrics (fish community indicators) were correlated with the most common stressor – eutrophication. The analysis detected several sensitive metrics (metrics showing the best correlation with the stressor) in which ecological class boundaries were set. Afterwards, combination of sensitive metrics was used for calculation of the ecological quality ratio (EQR) for each of the reservoir sampled. The EQR expresses the deviation between a reservoir’s current ecological status and its maximum potential. The next step consisted of validating the EQR with an independent pressure index and verifying the time stability of ecological potential assessment. The metrics used in the methodology fulfill all the obligations set forth in the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), which include assessment of the composition, abundance and age structure of fish fauna.

Factors affecting survival of asp (\kur{Aspius aspius}) and pikeperch (\kur{Sander lucioperca}) in a deep canyon-shaped reservoir
BLABOLIL, Petr
Changes in abundances of 0+, 1+ and 2+ age classes of the two most important piscivorous species - asp (Aspius aspius) and pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) in a deep canyon-shaped reservoir were investigated. A long-term fish sampling in the reservoir including fry trawling, fry and adult beach seining and gillneting was used to determine the factors affecting the recruitment. All data were used in a single linear model and the results obtained using different sampling methods were discussed.
The factors affecting early survival of pikeperch larvae and juveniles in the deep canyon shaped reservoirs.
BLABOLIL, Petr
The mortality, growth and distribution of the fluorescent marking (OTC) pikeperch fry (Sander lucioperca) and pikeperch fry spawned naturally were investigated. Samples of fish were taken by fry trawling at the Římov Reservoir during early April to June 2007 and 2008. After the data analysis I tried to determine the factors responsible for the great mortality at the young age.
