Specifically these network testing recommendations are described: RFC 2544, RFC 6349 and Y 1564. The results of performed tests are presented in practical part of thesis. Tested DSL technologies are compared based on results of performed tests at the end of practical part of thesis.
Influence of physical parameters and age of power lines on PCL/BPL performance and reliability
Janás, Jan ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Benešl, Lukáš (advisor)
With the increasing demands on data transmission, other ways are being sought than standard data transmission via conventional data cables. One of these ways is communication over power lines - PLC or BPL technology. This method of communication is widely used in households, energy, industry and other fields where it is used for data collection, communication, or control of various devices. Before considering the use of BPL technology, it is first necessary to evaluate the considered power line to see if it is suitable and technically competent for this purpose.
Intelligent system for remote data collection with PLC
Benešl, Lukáš ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with PowerLine Communication (PLC), analyzes its advantages and disadvantages of this technology. Shows the frequency division according to the frequency range in which they work. The work includes a methodology of PLC communications testing according to Request For Comments (RFC) 1242 and RFC 2544 standards. Tests of the individual modems were measured in the household on a real network. All modems measured the same topology, and the results were appropriately processed in the form of well-arranged tables and charts. In conclusion, the individual conclusions from the measurements are always discussed. For the measurement of narrowband PLCs with multiple carriers on PRIME and G3 standards, the SAM4CP16C-EK development kit from Atmel was used. Narrowband modems, with single carrier, are represented by the PLC MT49R model manufactured by ModemTec. For broadband modems, the HomePlug AV2 standard was selected in comparison with HomePlug AV. Within the HomePlug AV2, the I2SE PLC Stamp 1200 micro EVK and Linksys PLEK500 development kit were used. For the lower standard of HomePlug AV, PLC was used by COMFAST.
Influence of physical parameters and age of power lines on PLC/BPL performance and reliability
Benešl, Lukáš ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
BPL technology is quite widespread nowadays and the public is also somewhat aware of it. This technology can be used as a means of communication without the need to install additional media and thus use the existing infrastructure. In an effort to use the full potential of the technology, BPL communication began to be used to monitor the current state of cables in distribution networks online. Where the technology is already fully implemented, the distributor can use the data to evaluate the current situation. In this way, BPL technology can be used as a diagnostic tool to test the quality of a cable connection on which not only time but also humidity and other external influences could have a significant effect.
Design of the on-board system for a motorcycle
Ševčík, Jan ; Benešl, Lukáš (referee) ; Juráň, Radovan (advisor)
This work deals with the design and construction of an on-board computer for a vintage Jawa motorcycle. The design combines measuring sensors of our own design and those commonly available on the market, a main control board of our own design and assembly without interfering with the structure of the motorcycle. The system is considered for mounting on the Jawa 250/592 motorcycle, with some parts from other motorcycles, allowing for easier fitting. ESP32 from Espresiff is used as a microcontroller, which is placed in the tank of the motorcycle and displays the measured data on the LCD display. The system also allows you to control the entire motorcycle, such as enabling starting or turning on the lights
Visualization of PLC/BPL communication in the map
Klíma, Petr ; Rusz, Martin (referee) ; Benešl, Lukáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the implementation of an application for visualization of the PLC communication network (PowerLine Communication). The principle, advantages, disadvantages and variants of this type of communication are analyzed. Attention is also given to the use of this technology, especially in the construction of smart grids and for the diagnosis of cable lines, which is also used by the application. The thesis also deals with the problem of predicting the state of cable lines and the parameters on which this prediction is based. Some current possibilities of map visualization are also discussed and the application itself is created using the javascript library Leaflet and static map tiles. The application is focused on BPL technology, but it allows storing data on any connection made by any transmission technology. It allows displaying information about the network and displaying network elements on a map, filtering BPL connections according to the state of the cabling, configuring individual parts of the topology and the ability to create and read database backups. The behavior of the application can be easily modified by editing the file with constants.
Smart hydroponic system
Seč, Filip ; Juráň, Radovan (referee) ; Benešl, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the implementation of a smart hydroponic system with the capability of remote control and monitoring via a web interface. The main objective of the work is to design and implement hardware and software components for this system. Within the scope of the work, it is important to familiarize oneself with the issues of hydroponics and explore various types of hydroponic systems and their usage. Focus will also be given to the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of individual types of hydroponics. The next step involves getting acquainted with microcontrollers and sensors that will be used within the hydroponic system. Based on this, we will design a schematic connection and a printed circuit board (PCB) for the system. After designing the hardware, the implementation follows, along with bringing the de- signed modules to life. At this stage, it is necessary to program the individual modules so that they are able to communicate and process data. An important step is the design of communication with the web interface, which will enable data reading and system control. In this way, it will be possible to monitor the hydroponic system remotely. At the conclusion of the work, we verify the overall functionality of the system and compare it with existing commercial solutions available on the marke

Possible Replacement Of Bulk Remote Sensing At The Point Of Delivery
Benešl, Lukáš
This article deals with a possible replacement of HDO (Bulk Remote Reading), fromthe distributor’s point of view and the customer’s point of view. A measurement, which simulatescommunication was performed from the smart meter to the end device (photo-voltaic panels, chargingstation for an electric car). The simulated measurement was divided into five scenarios, which arediscussed at the end.
Influence Of Physical Parameters And Age Of Power Lines On Plc/Bpl Performance And Reliability
Benešl, Lukáš
The power grid conditions in distribution networks are usually unknown and the issue is missing knowledge of current technical condition of power cables. Distribution system operator need to know the consumption and other measuring values closer to the customer. The Broadband Powerline Technology (BPL) provides cost-effective way to realize communication with the possibility of current infrastructure. This technology could be as communication channel and simultaneously diagnostic tool.
