Žák, Matěj ; ŠTILEC, Jiří (advisor) ; BĚLOR, Roman (referee)
Goal of this Bachelor's Thesis is to present the theoretical minimum in the subject of strategic management that is to be applied in small artistic organizations. Background of most of the authors cited here is deliberately non-artistic. The crucial part of this thesis deals with the insight of M. Porter (theory of competitive advantage), W. Chan Kim and Reneé Mauborgne (Blue Ocean Strategy) and M. Kaiser (strategic planning in the arts). Each of the theoretical concepts is elucidated by set of real examples of cultural organizations. Special emphasis has been put on the global importance of internet and information technology. For the same reason start-ups has been included in the group of small artistic organizations as its relevant part.

This thesis aims to show on particular examples how are such courses started and what is required for their fluent course. Both courses have their specific approaches and goals. From the organizational point of view, easier way was chosen by Ludmila Peterková in courses in Domažlice. She invites only one foreign lecturer and focuses on young musicians. In contrast, Igor Františák, a lead organizer of Ostrava courses, has a difficult task ahead of him every year. He needs to raise funds to pay several lecturers from abroad. On the other hand, such courses draw larger attention of both older and professional musicians.

Kovalová, Terezie ; ŠTILEC, Jiří (advisor) ; BĚLOR, Roman (referee)
This thesis engages the question of whether it is even possible to popularize or proclaim alternative or underground project. For the analysis, I chose five publishers, Minority records , Starcastic , Polí5 , Citysurfer and Quazidelict . Originally I wanted to work also include publishing a happening agency AM180 together with their festival Creepy Teepee, but despite my repeated attempts I failed to contact its founders. After some research, I estabilished, that this community does not want to be externally presented and resists any publicity in the mainstream media. Thesis is elaborated in an unconventional way, due to the absolute lack of information about all of these publishing companies, both in printed and online media, I decided to use form of a personal interview. Therefore I would also like to apologize for slang expression used by persons involved in these interviews. It illustrates the world which is discussed. In order to confront ideas, for all the interviews I used the very similar set of questions, that were altered depending on the specialization of the publisher.

As the representatives of the Czech environment, I selected six orchestras in total; they are Czech Philharmonic, Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, Brno Philharmonic, Pilsen Philharmonic, Janáčkova Filharmonie Ostrava, and PKF - Prague Philharmonia. Then, from Europe, I paid attention to the orchestras which are either close to the Czech environment in terms of history or area, or inspiring for us for various reasons. Specifically, I work with the following orchestras: Berliner Philharmoniker, Het Koninklijk Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the British London Symphony Orchestra, and Slovenská filharmónia. The goal of this study is to create an overview of economy characteristics of all these Czech and European orchestras, to compare these ways and evaluate them.
