Advanced signal processing in composite material properties investigation
Blaháček, Michal ; Landa, Michal ; Zídek, Jan
Composite material parameters evaluation depends on our ability to simplify complex wave field. Fractional wave mode arrival usually evokes transient effects in the measured signal. In the paper new method of transient effects detection is discussed. The method is efficient tool for fractional wave mode detection and wave arrival time computation.
Dispersion curves in a thick orthotropic plate
Hora, Petr
A detailed expressions for the dispersion equations of an infinite orthotropic plate is considered.Dispersion curves are presented for the unidirectional composite. The results will be used to understand and to expand the use of acousto-ultrasonic testingin nondestructive evaluation.
Laser-generated ultrasound in solids
Blaháček, Michal ; Zídek, Jan ; Landa, Michal ; Urbánek, Přemysl ; Bajgar, Vlastimil
To better understand ultrasonic wave propagation in thin-wall structures and to evaluate physical properties of the structure material, new method for ultrasonic wave generation are necessary. Optical technique using Nd:YAG pulse laser as the wave source is suitable method example. In the paper laser ultrasound technique is discussed and some important results of wavelet analysis are shown.
The preprocessor for system LISA
Hora, Petr ; Šiňor, M.
In this contribution we pay attention to the propagation of the stress waves in an arbitrary complex inhomogeneous media. For the system of elastodynamic wave equations we have adopted the method of solution based on the local interaction simulation approach (LISA) and the sharp interface model (SIM) introduced for 1D, 2D and 3D cases in [1-3].
Determination of elastic moduli by the resonant ultrasound spectroscopy method
Kolman, Radek ; Plešek, Jiří ; Landa, Michal
An optimization method for the determination of elastic moduli by resonant ultrasound spectrocopy (RUS) was proposed. All components of the fourth-order tensor of elastic moduli for a general anisotropic material is determined from the knowledge of the resonance responce(spectrum) of the mechanical system. This spectrum is obtained from experimental measurements, using the RUS method on the prismatic specimen. For the iterative computation of elastic moduli an identification algorithm based on the direct iteration method is used. Spatial discretisation is performed by the finite element method.

Hora, Petr ; Šiňor, M.
In this contribution we pay attention to the propagation of the stress waves in an arbitrary complex inhomogeneous media. For the system of elastodynamic wave equations we have adopted the method of solution based on the local interaction simulation approach (LISA) and the sharp interface model (SIM).The implementation of LISA/SIM in 2D and 3D to computer codes is done in the C programming language. Preprocessor is done in the programming language Python with graphics library wxPython/wxWindows.

Landa, Michal ; Wevers, M.
In the constant deformation tests the active process is also general corrosion with active sides growing to the air.
Evalution of anisotropic elastic properties by ultrasonic methods
Landa, Michal ; Plešek, Jiří ; Urbánek, Přemysl ; Novák, V.
Among the fundamental characteristical of solids are their elastic constants. As derivatives of the free energy, elastic constants are closely connected to thermodynamic properties of material. Extensive quantitative connection among thermodynamic properties can be made if the elastic constant are knownas function of temperatureand pressure.
