Formulations and constitutive laws for very large strains
Plešek, Jiří
Closing of microcracks under compressive stresses is taken into account in the description of ceramic plasma sprayed materials.
Mechanical Properties of Plasma Sprayed Coatings at Low and High Deformations
Nohava, Jiří
Ceramic or metal coatings deposited by plasma spraying consist of thin splats and porosity between 2 and 15%.The structure is one of the main factors, controlling mechanical properties of the coating.Sprayed materials are know to be elastically anisotropic and having Young's moduli at small deformations much smaller than those of sintered materials. The typical splat and porosity.
Wear Mechanism of Al2O3 Coatings Deposited by Water-Stabilized Plasma Spraying
Nohava, Jiří ; Siegl, J.
Plasma sprayed Al2O3 and Cr2O3 are known their superior wear resistance.A proper understanding of the wear mechanisms is essential to achieve the highest wear resistance. In our recent work, the influence of WSPr water-stabilized plasma torch on the wear properties of Al2O3 and Cr2O3 coatings was studied. The results of wear tests on ceramic coatings were compared with wear test results.
Elastic nonlinearity due to microcracks in thermally sprayed materials
Kroupa, František ; Plešek, Jiří
Thermal spraying is a process in which the material in a powder form (with particle size between 20 and 150ćm) is melted, accelerated to a high velocity (20m/s up to 600m/s) and deposited on the substrate. The microstructure of sprayed materials is complex. It consists of irregular thin lamellae known as "splats", formed by rapid solidification of the impacted molten droplets.
