In the paper various applications of software radio in wideband mobile telephony systems are presented. The architecture of the basic parts of the mobile systems 3G is described and special attention to the technical problems is given. The report contains many computer programs to illustrate the mathematical procedures.

In the contribution the results of simulation of iterative decoding of parallel concatenated convolutionally encoded binary data sequence is presented. The role of the type and the size of interleaver is shortly mentioned. The efficient number of a decoder iterations is evaluated.
