Measurement and prediction of the transport properties of natural gases
Čapla, L. ; Buryan, P. ; Pátek, Jaroslav ; Klomfar, Jaroslav
Measurements of the thermal conductivity of two samples of natural gases performed with a transient hot-wire apparatus are reported. The prediction method for the thermal conductivity of gas mixtures suggested by Stiel and Thodos is tested against the obtained experimental data. The deviations of the experimental thermal conductivities form their calculated values lie within the band from ?2% to 2.5% in the temperature and pressure region relevant for natural gas transport.
Accuracy assessment of the prediction scheme for the thermal conductivity of natural gases
Čapla, L. ; Buryan, P. ; Pátek, Jaroslav ; Klomfar, Jaroslav ; Rottner, M.
The accuracy of the scheme for prediction of the thermal conductivity of multicomponent gas mixtures by Stiel and Thodos is assessed by comparison with the experimental data obtained on natural gases of the Norwegian a Russian type. At pressures used in high pressure pipelines and systems for natural gas transport and distribution, the relative deviation of the calculated values from the experimental ones lie within the band from ?2% to 2.5%.
