Methodology of application of essential oils and their components to achieve fungistatic effect in depositories paper artifacts endangered by microbial attack due to high relative humidity
Milichovský, M. ; Večeřa, Zbyněk ; Neuvirt, J.
Methodology concerns the protection of artifacts on paper using essential oils. It is the sum of knowledge, policies and procedures, as these substances or their analogs artificially prepared to use so as to avoid unnecessary mistakes to be protected negative impact on lignocellulosic materials.
Microbicidal properties and chemical composition of essential oils
Křůmal, Kamil ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
The microbicidal properties of 6 essential oils (EOs; Lavandula angustifolia, Cymbopogon nardus, Citrus aurantifolia, Juniperus communis, Myrtus communis and Cinnamomum zeylanicum ) for 17 microorganisms were determined using the vapour-agar contact method. The most effective EO (i.e. Lavandula angustifolia ) whose volatile components provided the sufficient microbicidal properties was chosen for detailed study of chemical composition.
Chemical composition and volatility of essential oils investigated in frame of study: Saving of culture heritage on paper
Kubátková, Nela ; Křůmal, Kamil ; Večeřa, Zbyněk ; Mikuška, Pavel
Chemical composition of essential oils and concentrations of individual components in gas phase were presented in this contribution.
Analysis of saccharides and markers of wood combustion in atmospheric aerosols
Kubátková, Nela ; Křůmal, Kamil ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
Present study deals with the analysis of saccharides (monosaccharides, disaccharides and alditols), monosaccharide anhydrides and markers of biomass and wood combustion in atmospheric aerosol and comparison of their concentrations in term of seasons.
Determination of heavy metals in solid energetic waste
Kořínková, Alena ; Doležalová Weissmannová, H.
Determination of heavy metals (Pb, Cu and Cd) in solid energetic waste (loge ash, ash, scoria) was performed according to Tessier. Extraction proceeded at temperatures of 25°C and 40°C and metals were determined using atomic absorption spectrometer (F AAS and ET AAS).
Comparison of concentrations of organic compounds in PM1 aerosol in Brno and Šlapanice
Křůmal, Kamil ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
In this work the organic compounds and organic markers used for the identification of sources of aerosols were monitored. Monosaccharide anhydrides are emitted from biomass combustion, polyaromatic hydrocarbons from traffic and incomplete combustion, hopanes from traffic and coal combustion, steranes from traffic and fatty acids from cooking.
Determination of organic compounds in PM1 in Brno and Šlapanice
Křůmal, Kamil ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Vojtěšek, Martin ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
Monosaccharide anhydrides, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, hopanes, steranes and monocarboxylic acids were analysed in PM1. Contribution deals with extractions of these compounds from filters, preparations of samples, analyses by GC/MS and discussions of results of analysis.
Analysis of hopanes and steranes in PM1 in Brno and Šlapanice
Křůmal, Kamil ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Vojtěšek, Martin ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
Contribution deals with analysis of hopanes and steranes in Brno and Šlapanice. Steranes are markers for traffic and hopanes for traffic and coal combustion.
