Corrosion of Sintered Materials Based on Iron
Slotová, Petra ; Sedlaříková, Marie
This paper addresses the topic of biodegradable bone implants. Presently, titanium alloys, known for their ability to reinforce bone structure, are utilized for fracture fixation. Nevertheless, post-healing, their extraction from the body becomes necessary. Biodegradable implants serve the same purpose but undergo gradual degradation upon exposure to bodily fluids. Consequently, the need for additional surgical procedures for their removal is obviated.
Overdoping effect with Zr and Hf on the oxidation behaviour of FeCrAl-Hf by means of Atom Probe Tomography
Daradkeh, Samer I. ; Recalde, Oscar ; Mousa, Marwan S. ; Sobola, Dinara
The study investigated the oxidation behaviour and grain boundary diffusion of minor/major elements of FeCrAl alloys, doped with over-critical concentrations of reactive elements (REs) Zr and Hf. While the formation of ?-Al2O3 scale on these alloys is conventionally attributed to inward oxygen transport along grain boundaries, this research proposes that metal ion outward diffusion also contributes to the development of oxide scales and their microstructural characteristics. Samples were analyzed after thermal exposure at 1100 °C using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and atom probe tomography (APT). Results revealed increased oxide growth, deeper internal oxidation, and RE-oxide formation near and at oxide grain boundaries due to enhanced inward and outward diffusion resulting from overdoping. The impact of overdoping varied with RE type and concentration, influenced by solubility, ionic size, and electronic structure of alumina. Notably, Zr-doped samples maintained alumina adhesion to the alloy after thermal exposure, whereas severe spallation occurred in Hf-doped samples.
Study of spin-waves in the triangular lattice antiferromagnetic systems
Sviták, David ; Vališka, Michal (advisor) ; Klicpera, Milan (referee)
The content of this work is a measurement of spin waves in triangular lattice antiferromagnets. Single crystals of Na2BaMn(PO4)2 were successfully grown and the magnetic properties of this system were initially studied by the specific heat with applied magnetic field along ab and c axis. These measurements revealed a rich magnetic phase diagram with a new phase, that might be a highly exotic Vortex crystal phase. Complementary inelastic neutron scattering studies of this system could be performed only thanks to the development and improvement of the new experimental technique called Automatic Laue Sample Aligner (ALSA). After several tests and improvements, we used this device to automatically coalign hundreds of milligram crystals to form a large enough sample. Such an advanced approach led to the impressive mosaicity spread around 2ž and thus to a very sensitive inelastic neutron study performed on IN12 at Institute Laue- Langevin. It allowed us to determine the propagation vector in the ground state at 55 mK as k = (1/3,1/3,±0.181(4)). Additionally, spin waves were measured in a fully polarized state in a magnetic field of 10 T revealing magnon dispersion in Na2BaMn(PO4)2.
Building computers in virtual reality
EDER, Ondřej
This thesis focuses on the process of building computers and the potential of using Virtual Reality (VR) in order to learn this process. The main focus of the thesis is to create a VR application that would allow even low-tech users to learn how to build a computer, and then showing a brief economic comparison of the use of this technology in practice for staff training purposes. The thesis starts by discussing the field of computers and the individual components used in the building process, and then briefly describes the field of VR itself, its history, current state and use cases. The main part of the thesis is a description of the actual development of the application in the Unity Engine using the C# programming language. The thesis then describes the process of publishing this application on the SideQuest platform. Ultimately, the thesis compare standard and VR training methods, their advantages and disadvantages, and make a simplified economic comparison showing that using VR to train employees can already be a very interesting option even nowadays.
Mladý ječmen a chlorella jako součást zdravého stravování
BÍCOVÁ, Pavla
Products of young barley and chlorella belong to the increasingly popular nutraceuticals due to their rich nutritional composition. The aim of the thesis was: to assess the offer of young barley and chlorella in the market network in the Czech Republic, to evaluate the knowledge about these products and the effects of using these dietary supplements by questionnaire survey (n = 338) and to assess the quality of the selected products. There is a relatively wide range of chlorella (57 products; 75 % in tablet form) and young barley (24 products; 71 % in powder form) products on the Czech market, which differ in composition, processing method, country of origin, price and information provided about them. Knowledge of the production method and the contents is important when consumers choose products. This knowledge was found to be low among some users. Awareness increased statistically significantly with age and educational attainment. The majority of users of chlorella (181; 55 %) and young barley (224; 68 %) did not suffer from side effects associated with initiation of use. The most frequently reported adverse symptoms were related to the gastrointestinal tract (diarrhoea, constipation). The most frequently reported beneficial effects were more energy and vitality, improved digestion and immunity. The microbial quality of the chlorella and young barley samples met the legislative requirements. Total polyphenol content and total antioxidant activity were lower (1.20?0.00 mg/g - 1.35?0.01 mg/g, 0.73?0.00 mg/g - 0.84?0.02 mg/g, respectively) in chlorella (11.44?0.26 mg/g - 7.92?0.25 mg/g, 10.36?0.00 mg/g - 22.76?0.27 mg/g, respectively) compared to young barley.
Paulo Coelho and his Selected Works as an Inspiration in Leisure Education of Youths
HASALÍKOVÁ, Veronika
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to introduce the writer Paulo Coelho and use his selected works as an inspiration in leisure education of youths. The thesis is divided into two sections. The theoretical section introduces the author's biography, received literature awards, author's selected works, specifics of youths and selected methods chosen for working with the text. The practical section deals with the creation and realization of the project "The Alchemist - The Journey to the Treasure", which aims to develop self-knowledge and the ability of self-reflection in youths. The programme uses extracts of Paulo Coelho's work as an inspiration.
Information Security as an Indicator of Business Performance
Gancarčik, Rastislav ; Vlastimil,, Svoboda (referee) ; Sedlák, Petr (advisor)
The content of this thesis is a proposal of methodology for evaluating company's performance in areas of information security, while their performance will be judged based on compliance with standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013, Act no. 181/2014 Coll., Regulation 2016/679 of European Parliament and Directive 2016/1148 of the European Parliament. The proposal of this methodology is designed in a particular company which operates in the Czech Republic.
Static Analysis of the Parts of the Textile Structures
Husáriková, Natália ; Gratza, Roman (referee) ; Kytýr, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with elastic modulus determination by experimental measurements and comparison with the manufacturer's declared values. Own methodology for measuring membrane strip is proposed in this thesis. Thus determined values of elastic modulus are used in analysis models using ANSYS software. Calculated values of displacements are compared with the manually measured values of displacements during the experiment. Membrane strip with a hole is modeled in the same way.
Family house - Držovice u Prostějova
Anděl, Marek ; Lipka, Miroslav (referee) ; Lipka, Miroslav (referee) ; Eliáš, Luboš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the project documentation for the family hou-se. The building is located in a newly developing part of the village Držovice on the land numbers 182/1 and 181. The family house is designed for a family of four. The building has two above-ground floors and there is a basement below some part of the building. The movement amongst the floors is through concrete staircase. The object is built from the Porotherm system and covered with a flat roof. The building is based on underlying reinforced concrete belts.
