Josef Antonín Seydl in Office of the Beroun Dean

The main aim of this Bachelor's work is to create a comprehensive summary of information about the life and the work of Josef Antonín Seydl and to put this person into the historical context of his time. This thesis is aimed at the involvement of Josef Antonin Seydl in activities of national revivalists. We can see the illustration of Seydl's involvement in the process of the Czech National Revival in his work for the National Museum, in his attempt to found the reader's society or in lending the contemporary literature, written in Czech, to the poor citizens of Beroun city. For his hometown is important his historiographical work which was written with an emphasis on the importance of knowing the national language and knowing national and also regional history. This Bachelor's work should demonstrate that Josef Antonín Seydl was an important part in the process of the Czech National Revival although today is his name almost unknown.
