Therapeutic community for addicted in Czech republic

Addictive substances (or drugs), which include substances as methamphetamine, heroin, alcohol but also drugs as analgesics, are in today's society often abused. Drug use may remain in occasional, not damaging use. However, the occasional use can develop through several stages to the dependence (or dependence syndrome). This happens if the individual is no longer able to be without this substance and in the case of lack of this substance, withdrawal symptoms can occure. As a consequence of the development of substance abuse, interconnected network of services for addiction treatment (ie secondary prevention) was formed. This includes also the therapeutic community. Therapeutic community is a residential service. This means that clients live here. Everyday program is clearly structured. Everyone without exception have to observe regime and rules. In the case of their violation there is a risk of penalty. The program contains several kinds of activities such as group therapy, community meetings, individual sports, art therapy, etc. All activities and the whole community has a positive therapeutic effect on the healing process. This thesis deals with Education of Roma children in the Czech Republic. It sums up basic facts relating to arrival of Roma in Europe and in the Czech Republic, deals with societal reactions to this arrival and relations progress between Roma and major society. The attention is focused on a existing conception of Roma education, determinants of Roma children education, social exclusion of their families, possible risks of troubleshooting behaviour, affirmative approaches including establishing preliminary studies and positions for education assistants, The practical part is focused on education assistants.

Where I studied documentation and did twenty-six interviews with children. The main part is devoted to the presentation of the obtained results, so how children spend their time before they are placed in a children's home. The results are analyzed and possible solutions and recommendations for working with children and families in family preservation.
Insidious city. Educational aid for teachers to help them in prevention of undesirable social phenomena

Doctoral thesis "Insidious City - Educational aid for teachers to help them in prevention of undesirable social phenomena" sums up findings concerning prevention of adolescent risk behaviour. On the basis of long-term experience and research, the author has created a game called "Insidious City" and wrote a methodological guide for teachers who want to utilise the game in the classroom within evaluation of the prevention programme and identification of risk individuals in the class. The goal of this thesis is to create an aid for those schools which want to add complementary means to external providers' prevention programmes, or implement their own minimum-scope prevention programme. The thesis has six chapters. The first chapter describes the classification of primary prevention and forms of risk behaviour. In the second chapter, the author gives a summary of research and trends in the area of primary prevention, based on the literature and Internet information both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The third and fourth chapters go through the procedures of creating a prevention programme and implementing its evaluation. Bio-psycho-social-spiritual model in the buprenorphine substitutional treatment

This thesis is focused on the application of holistic, bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of dependence to concrete therapeutic method, namely to the substitution treatment of persons dependent on opiate addictive substances with synthetic opioid buprenorphine. The aim is to describe the essence of BPSS model of addiction, with the specifics of opiate addiction, and the treatment system based on it. Also, to show substitution therapy as one of the most effective methods that improves quality of a dependent person's life. Further, to confirm the need for a holistic perception of substitution treatment when ersatz drug use itself is not a real chance for dependent persons, unless such treatment is accompanied by psychosocial and spiritual therapeutic approach. Another objective is to map the risk that, in practice, the substitution therapy initiation in a holistic range brings in the context of contemporary reality. The work will consider approach bases to opiate addicts, especially the optics of lifelong abstinence versus controlled use, leading to better quality of dependent person's life. Working with a family in the process of addiction treatment within therapeutic community

Use of mind-altering substances may result in an array of adverse, especially health and social, consequences for drug users as well as for their close persons. Help to solve mentioned problems provide various types of drug services. The vast majority of drug services in past did not take into account the fact that relatives might suffer due to drug use of their family member too and thus they also might need specific professional help. The aim of this work is to capture and describe the process of therapy with regard to the perception and experience of the close persons of clients of therapeutic community. In order to adequately understand the situations, we must first determine what elements constitute them. The work is based on a qualitative approach and research group consists of close persons of clients of the therapeutic community WHITE LIGHT I. The results show that it is possible, based on the analysis of data, to define each stage of the therapeutic process from the perspective of family members and name them according to chronology and important characteristic. The inclusion of persons close to drug users into treatment process contributes significantly to improvement of their lives and relationships quality. Behavioral disturbances according to ICD-10 at pupils of elementary school and special elementary school

The goal of the bachelor thesis is to map the occurrence of behavioural disorders in the base of pupils in special elementary schools and in standard elementary schools, in the same time. The guiding document for this thesis is the International Classification of Diseases, rev. 10 (ICD-10), supplemented within particular diagnoses by specific case history of school practice. There is a brief historical overview of the ICD's development and its current form followed by successively given various diagnoses of behavioural disorders together with a brief description of diagnosis, symptoms and procedures to address or treat these disorders in the thesis. The bachelor's thesis is focused to individual case histories, then. In the context of reported cases, the manifestations or solutions of rate of problems are outlined within school pupils as they occur in common practice of elementary schools. Comparison of theoretical and practical part brings new and interesting information, in this context.

PaeDr. Eva Šotolová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This thesis solves two serious topics of special pedagogic. Behavioural disorders and self-harming behaviour. Self-harming behaviour is deliberate, conscious and often repetitive violation of physical integrity without intent to die. The work is divided into 11 chapters. The first are focused on behavioural disorders, self-harming behaviours, and crisis intervention. Other chapters deal with the goals, research questions and chosen method of treatment. The aim was to map the occurrence, factors and methods of self-harming and describe alternative techniques of reducing this behaviour. Qualitative research is used in this work - analysing the anamneses of individuals with behavioural disorders and interviews with ethopedic workers. The inquiry of documentation shows that self-harming behaviour is caused by negative effects of family and social environment. The most common methods include self-cutting of girls, fists and head pounding against the wall of boys. Delinquency of children and youth focusing on prevention

In this thesis we would like to deal with reasons, which might lead to future delinquent behaving, to focus on legal provision concerning delinquency of children and youth, to show the particularities between children and youth offenders and find out the methods of their investigation. The inseparable part is also the chapter on prevention, in which we try to find out the types and possibilities of prevention exist and mention the particular preventive programs of Mestska policie hl. m. Prahy (The Police of the Capital of Prague). In analytical part our goal is to compare and confront the development of illegal activities of children and youth in 2004 to 2009.
