The importance of Mollicutes in urological infections
ŠIMKOVÁ, Veronika
The bachelor thesis deals with the importance of the Mollicutes class in urological infections. It is focused on the diagnosis of urogenital mycoplasma, namely Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum. Mollicutes form a unique group of microorganisms that represent the smallest known organism capable of an autonomous life. Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma are of the greatest importance for humans. They are most commonly found in the oral cavity, in the respiratory tract and in the urogenital tract. The most well-known mycoplasmas that cause urogenital tract disease are Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis was to gather available scientific literature on this topic, including Internet resources. The aim of the practical part was to master the laboratory examination of the urological material to Mollicutes class, namely Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum strains. In order to achieve this goal, the results of a long-term research investigation of the laboratory from the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic were collected. The bachelor thesis also compared laboratory results from the Czech Republic, Kladno and Bratislava. Results were obtained using two different methods, the culture kit and the PCR method. The results of the investigation showed that the Ureaplasma urealyticum strain occurs much more frequently than the Mycoplasma hominis strain. Summary results are consistent with the literature on the incidence of urogenital mycoplasma. During the elaboration of my bachelor thesis, I learned to manually handle the methods of the theoretical part of my thesis, including isolation of DNA mycoplasmas and ureaplasmas. The results provide information on urogenital infections, their diagnosis, treatment and prevention, thus this work can provide information for healthcare professionals, health care students, or others interested in this theme.
Effect of nanodiamond particles on neuronal tissue
Šimková, Veronika ; Benson, Veronika
High-Pressure High-Temperature nanodiamonds are considered to be highly biocompatible due to\ntheir low acute toxicity, which makes them suitable for biomedical applications. However, next to interaction with the cell membrane, nanoscale allows particles to penetrate the plasma membrane and even accumulate in the cell cytoplasm. Recently it brought up questions regarding sustainable nanoparticle application in vivo and potential toxicity hazards. The neuronal tissue consists of neurons and glial cells, and it is separated by a bloodbrain barrier from the peripheral blood system. Neurons are nerve cells forming a complex network of synapses that carry signals in the brain. The neurons are nourished and protected by glial cells. This project aims to find out whether nanodiamonds pass the blood-brain barrier when applied intravenously as a drug carrier and whether they directly interact with the neuronal tissue.
Comparison of admission tests of HZS from Teplice with ordinary population
Šimková, Veronika ; Fiala, Miloš (advisor) ; Vilášek, Josef (referee)
Title: Comparison of physical admission test for the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic with ordinary population. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare results of firefighters with ordinary population of admission test for the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic. Methods: . In this thesis, comparison of physical fitness and performance is done for 15 random selected volunteers from ordinary population and 15 members of HZS ČR Ústeckého kraje, územního odboru Teplice. Mann-Whitney U test was chosen to verify stated hypothesis. Mann- Whitney U test is a non-parametric test that compares two chosen data sets. The hypothesis states that the results of firefighters with ordinary population of admission test for the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic are nearly the same. Results: Mann-Whitney U test was applied to determine if the stated hypothesis holds true. The statistical method was done for 3 physical tests required in admission exam to HZS ČR. The hypothesis was declined only for test 1 (push-ups). In other cases (test 2 - sit-ups , test 3 - 200 m swimming), the hypothesis was confirmed. Keywords: test, firefighters, swimming, population, corps

Motives and effectiveness of trans-regional cooperation: Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) - a case study
Šimková, Veronika ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Oklešťková, Ivana (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Motives and effectiveness of trans-regional cooperation: Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) - a case study" addresses trans-regionalism as a new form of regionalism; looks at motives for co-operation and finally addresses effectiveness as a critical factor for trans-regional cooperation. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part sets out the theoretical framework for trans-regional cooperation researching. After defining the basic concepts the author examines the differences between two generations of regionalism - old and new. Trans-regionalism is defined on the basis of general classification of regionalism. Furthermore, motives of cooperation are researched using specific theoretical approaches - realism and liberalism. Effectiveness is defined on the basis of international regimes theory. In the second part of the thesis motives for cooperation are analysed on the case of ASEM. The research reveals limitations of trans-regional cooperation. Finally, the effectiveness of ASEM is assessed.
Management of Breast Cancer
Šimková, Veronika ; Střítecký, Rudolf (advisor) ; Lešetický, Ondřej (referee)
Breast tumors are not only main incidence of tumor based load of women population, but they are still the most common cause of death in the area of tumor diseases. 1950 women dies on breast tumors every year, which is 37 out of 100 thousand women. Overall are breast tumors cause of deaths in 3.5% women in population. Despite still growing incidence of breast tumors, death rate caused by this type of tumor stagnate on long tearm basis, which clearly shows improvement in treatment success mostly thanks to higher finding in earlier stages. In our country is in 28 years evident shift of incidence into younger age groups, which starts to be obvious in age group of 40-44 years already. Today's prevention possibilities are on high level. It depend's only on patients themselves, if they will obey these rules. At early finding illness of breast carcinoma is prognosis of recovery high. Because of this disease topicality I've decided to process this topic and expand my knowledge.
Centre of the body
Šimková, Veronika ; Kubicová, Ivanka (advisor) ; Sedláčková, Anna (referee)
In my master dissertation I am concerned with the question of the body centre. I am setting out to search for the centre of the body, what I have been actually doing for a longer time. I am trying to approach this problem of the centre from several angles. I am dealing with East philosophy, functional anatomy and with the ideas from ideokinesis, Feldenkrais method, Pilates and Body-Mind Centering. Everything in our body, likewise in the world around us, moves in its own rhythm. Therefore I focused my observing on an inseparable phenomenon of breath. I have tried to complete the theoretical part of my work with practical examples and my own observations, thoughts and reflections from my dance and pedagogy experiences. In my observation I came to the conclusion, that the pfysical centre cannot possibly exist in itself, it must coexist with the whole personality. More and more I have been working with the thoughts of interrelation of the body and mind, which gives me support and provide inspiration for my pedagogical and dance activities. I am trying to show, that nowadays, in the 21st century, we don't need to ask about the origin of the teaching ?technique?, but about the philosophy the teacher embodies. Let us get overwhelmed by the riches of our body, let us listen to it and gather as much knowledge as possible.
