Use of Kocher's method for adhesive capsulitis
Martinek, Michael ; Šilhavá, Sylva (advisor) ; Vrbický, David (referee)
The main subject of this bachelor's thesis is the use of the Kocher method for diagonses of adhesive capsulitis. This thesis highlights Kocher's method as a mean to gain better stabilization of the shoulder joint, improve range of motion of the arm on the affected shoulder and also work as a pain managment technique. The theory part writes about characteristics of adhesive capsulitits, biomechanics of the shoulder joint, exams and special tests focused on shoulder joint. The practical part contains five case study of patients with diagnoses of adhesive capsulitits. All those patients underwent series of outpatient physical therapy care using standart methods. We took three patients who were part of case study mentioned above and used additionaly Kocher's method. We wanted to find out if using this method can improve general condition of the patient. Moreover, we focused on improvement of range of motion of the shoulder joint and pain reduction. At the end of practical part we compared data from exams from both groups. Patients using standart methods of physical therapy and patients treated additionaly by kocher's method. Key words: Kocher's method, adhesive capsulitits, physical therapy
Use of interactive device Homebalance® in therapy of vertebrogenic algic syndrome
Hanzelka, Michal ; Šilhavá, Sylva (advisor) ; Hašpicová, Marcela (referee)
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is the use of internal Homebalance® aids, certified as a medical device class I, in therapy in patients diagnosed with vertebrogenic algic syndrome. The work introduces this technology and isdivided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the practical part, two case reports of patients with this are processed diagnosis. The evaluation of the effectiveness of the therapy is performed by comparing the input and output examination, which uses the measurement of the distance spine, body weight distribution using two scales, pain evaluation according to the NRS scale (The Numeric Rating Scale) and automatic evaluation of the exercise with the Homebalance® system. Finally, a comparison of the effectiveness of therapy performed in one patient only with the Homebalance® device with the Homebalance® device therapy combined with therapy with proven physiotherapeutic methods and concepts (DNS and McKenzie exercise elements) in the other patient
Effect of wearing high heel shoes on musculoskeletal system with focus on osteoarthritis of the knee joint
Draksel, Jakub ; Vacek, Jan (advisor) ; Šilhavá, Sylva (referee)
The main objective: The main objective of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive summary of existing knowledge about the effect of high-heeled shoes on the musculoskeletal system and to determine the context between this type of footwear and knee osteoarthritis through a systematic review of biomechanical and epidemiological studies dealing with this problematics. Methods: Keywords in the form of search query were searched in bibliographic databases. The target group was formed by biomechanical and epidemiological studies or their reviews and meta-analyses dealing with the relationship between wearing high-heeled shoes and knee osteoarthritis. The PRISMA method, including the flow diagram, was used to clarify and categorize the data. Results: Biomechanical publications show that wearing high-heeled shoes leads to kinetic and kinematic changes of the knee joint, especially during walking. The most significant and most frequently observed changes are the varus/adduction and flexion moment and the increased angle of flexion of the knee joint during the stance phase of walking. Current epidemiological studies on this issue are inconsistent, with 2 studies not confirming the link between wearing high-heeled shoes and osteoarthritis of the knee. In contrast, 3 studies report a positive relationship,...
Case study on the physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of polytopic vertebral algic syndrome.
Sikorová, Linda ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Šilhavá, Sylva (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of polytopic vertebral algic syndrome. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize theoretical and practical knowledge about the issue of polytopic vertebral algic syndrome. Methods: The theoretical part contains information about anatomy and kinesiology of the spine, some disorders in this area and possibilities of the therapy of vertebral algic syndrome. The second part is focused on the practical use of examination and therapeutic methods. Results: The patient's condition improved subjectively and objectively after the therapies. Keywords: vertebral algic syndrome, psychical therapy, lumbar spine.
Case Study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of osteosynthesis of the periprosthetic fracture of the left femur in the terrain of the osteopetrosis after total hip arthroplasty of the left coxa
Staňkovská, Gabriela ; Novotná, Irena (advisor) ; Šilhavá, Sylva (referee)
9 Abstract Title: Case Study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of periprostetic fracture osteosynthesis of a left femur in the osteopetrotic ground after left coxa total hip arthroplasty Objectives: The objective of this thesis was to study the literature concerning the topic, elaborate a case study of a concrete patient and verify my capacities while working with a patient. Methods: The general part has the form of a literature search and it presents the knowledge concerning the patient's diagnose. The special part consists of the case study of the patient elaborated during a continuous professional training supervised by an experienced physiotherapist. While working with the patient, several methods were used: the examination by aspection, the examination of soft tissue and of joint play, the measure of the lower extremities, the goniometry, the measure of the muscle power, of the shortened muscles, the neurological examination, the motor stereotype examination and the test of activities of daily living. Furthermore, therapeutic methods were used to deal with the examined pathology. Results: The thesis offers a theoretical insight to the problematic of osteopetrosis and osteosynthesis of fractures, which is accompanied by a case study of a concrete patient. As the Czech resources...
