The Picture of a Woman in Drama of 20th Century - Images of the woman´s emancipation
Musilová, Veronika ; Šavlíková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Vinař, Josef (referee)
This work, on the base of two theatre performances, several dramas and also one novel by 20th century authors, follows up the transformations and variations of the woman character. I pay attention to the woman characters, who want to solve a serious and strong conflict between imaginations of themselves and their lives, and on the other hand limited possibilities to realize them. My point of view is determined by the theme of the woman?s emancipation, which I do analyse and identify on mentioned examples. I am finding out similar as well as different ways and also various levels of emancipation. In conclusion, I recover the key-stone of every, not only woman?s emancipation: to recognize that I don?t have to want more than I am able to, to understand what I am allowed to, to put up with it and to find love to myself; to oneself.
Sinclair versus Sternenhoch
Tejnorová, Petra ; Šavlíková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Makonj, Karel (referee)
This bachelor work titled Sinclair versus Sternenhoch represents for me an opportunity for recapture, reflect and think about the process of making two performances - John Sinclair and The Suffering of Duke Sternenhoch, which I realized during my three-year bachelor studies of Directing - Dramaturgy of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU, Prague. Each of the two performances required different approach and both process of genesis went through different procedures of dramaturgy and directing, to start with the work on the scenario, over the rehearsals themselves, to the final shape. This work gives me the opportunity to treat the main points of the process of making a performance in general, but also to compare two particular experiences.

Riedlbauchová, Veronika ; Šavlíková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Tichý, Zdeněk (referee)
Abstract (Summary) Riedlbauchová, Veronika: The Process of Staging a Play - Tennessee Williams - This Property Is Condemned, B.A. Thesis, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Theatre Faculty, Prague 2006, 46 pp. The B.A. thesis reflects the process of presenting a one-act play "This Property Is Condemned" by Tennesse Williams, which was opened on the 29th of April in Řetízek (Řetězová ulice, Prague 1) as part of the summer semester 2004/2005 final exam, onstage. In this production, made in co-operation with the pedagogical staff and under the supervision of professor Josef Krofta, the second year students of the Alternative and Puppet Theatre Department - Veronika Riedlbauchová (direction - dramaturgy), Kateřina Štolcpartová (stage design) and the actors Miroslava Venclová, Jakub Prachař, Veronika Khomová, Luděk Smadiš and Jiří Chvalovský - took part. The paper is divided into five chapters, each pursuing a different aspect of the process of theatre production, from the choice of text to the staging itself. The first chapter works up a detailed analysis of the play, which makes a growing point of the dramaturgical intention. Chapter two presents the dramaturgical process: choice of text, accentuation of the subject matter, the play´s structuring and process of scripting. The third chapter, concerned with scenic designing, gives description of the search for scenic expression and imagery from the first version to the beginning of the realization itself. The process of realization and its individual components are recounted in chapter four. The authoress tells us what problems and changes happened to occur during rehearsals and in what way these influenced the overall look of the play. She also comments on communication during rehearsals, i.e. co-operation with the actors, the stage setter and others. The fifth chapter finally gives summary and evaluation of the whole process of staging.
Dramaturgist and dramaturgy
Vojtíšková, Zuzana ; Klíma, Miloslav (advisor) ; Šavlíková, Kateřina (referee)
The main question of this master diploma publication is: Who is the dramaturgist and what is it the dramaturgy in the contemporary theatre, especially during the play preparation. In the first part there are teoretical principles and the definition of the terms dramaturgist and dramaturgy. In the second part there are practical experiences from my work since 2005 until 2007. During this period I prepared following performances: Balada o velkém kostlivci in Theatre DISK, Díra ve zdi in Theatre Minor, Prolhaný ovčák, O kouzelném jablíčku, Červená Karkulka and Slůně in Theatre Lampion Kladno. In my master diploma publication I tried to show the effort of a dramaturgist in different levels. The dramaturgist could be co-creator of a performance or partner of a director and a stage designer. The dramaturgist could cooperate with a group of creators or could be an author of a script or could make an oponency of a new dramatical script or could be an author of a playbill only. These categories I showed from the perspective of a chosen text and its preparation with the director, than from the perspective of a stage design and at last from the perspective of a cooperation with actors during rehearsals. Part of this master diploma publication are DVDs, photos and notes and passages from scripts.

Jan the Phenomenon Tleskač
Balzerová, Adéla ; Šavlíková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Etlík, Jaroslav (referee)
The Bachelor's thesis entitled Jan the Phenomenon Tleskač describes the conception of Jan Tleskač production from a dramaturgic point of view. The production was created within the Prague Quadrennial 2007 as one of the projects on the topic Reach the Heaven. The entire project concentrated mainly on its artistic part. The well known story of Jan Tleskač - the boy that invented a flying bicycle - is based on the book Mystery of a Brainteaser by Jaroslav Foglar. In our production we only concentrated on the story of Jan Tleskač and thus we created an original story. We added some new characters into the story - three fitter's shop apprentices, a St. James's church nun and we kept a very important character of Tleskač's master Em. The baseline of the well known story was thus enriched by those new characters putting the story in a different light than the one we know from Foglar's stories.
