Education of Geometry for Primary School or "Ms. Teacher, I am enjoying this work"

The diploma thesis deals with teaching geometry at the basic school - what is the position of geometry in comparison with mathematics and other school subjects at present day? The thesis describes didactic teaching principles of geometry, its methods and work forms. It deals with the teacher's attitude to its teaching. Research is divided into two parts. In the first part it deals with detecting relations and teacher's attitudes to geometry. It explores possible influence to positive or negative attitude to it, and how these impulses influence theirs todays attitude to geometry as a school subject. The second part of the project detects positive or negative influence of teacher's attitude to geometry on pupil's results from this subject. It deals with particular data from worksheets which were done by pupils from the 5th class and compares them with answers of theirs teachers in the questionaire about popularity of teaching of geometry. The assumption is that the results of pupils who are led by the teacher with positive attitude to geometry will be better than the results of pupils who are taught by the teacher with negative attitude to the geometry. Contemporary Social Context and Possibilities of Employing Older People in Social Enterprises

(in English) The aim of this dissertation is to create an overview of elderly people employment in social businesses in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes a social entrepreneurship, defines it and gives its legal frame and examples of such businesses in Europe and in the Czech Republic. The category of the elderly is defined according to their characteristics and also according to the possible link to long term unemployment. The connection with the Age management is presented at the end of the theoretical part. The empirical part focuses on the overall situation of the elderly in social businesses and on factors possibly affecting their employment in this kind of businesses. It was found out in the research that the selected target group is one of those most at risk on the labour market. At the same time, this group is one of the least supported and monitored not only in the social businesses. However, persons 50+ may become a significant group on the labour market in the future. The final part of this thesis stresses out that it is vital to change our point of view on this target group and its support on the field of active labour market policy, but, above all, to make use of the opportunity to employ these people in social entrepreneurship which is described in this dissertation...
Factors that lead to the start of human trafficking

This thesis is focused on the topic of human trafficking. The main aim is to find out the internal factors leading a person to become a victim of human trafficking. The term human trafficking is explained from many points of view such as social work, prevention and legislation. The chapters are focused on explaining what human trafficking is and how it is different from other similar terms which are really easy to confuse with it. This thesis is also about the mechanism of human trafficking and factors leading to the situation of human trafficking. I conducted interviews with some victims of human trafficking to explore the internal factors that led them to making their decision. The practical part of the thesis includes six interviews which I summarized and included three of them written word for word in the appendix of the thesis. I analyzed the interviews and set the codes and categories which I compared to the internal categories written in books that include the factors that lead people to human trafficking. From this comparison, I made new categories to work with. I interpreted the new categories and found new factors leading to the situation of human trafficking. The use of Horticultural Therapy in Work with Seniors

This diploma thesis deals with the theme of horticultural therapy in the Czech Republic. The thesis is especially focused on the utilization of this therapy with seniors. The theoretical part contains chapters dealing with age, needs, and horticultural therapy, which is an effective way of meeting the needs of the elderly. The horticultural therapy is presented from the historical point of view. In addition the state of the horticultural therapy in Czech Republic is described in general. Furthermore this chapter describes the usage of the horticultural therapy abroad. Key features of the horticultural therapy are presented in order to ensure effectiveness of this method. Therapeutic gardens are defined in this part, as well as key differences between horticultural therapy and other generally used therapeutic approaches. The research is based on semi-structured interviews with relevant persons in the Czech Republic. The interviews were conducted with three groups of people. The risks in the provision of the service sheltered housing for pepople with mental illness

This master thesis deals with the risks that arise from the usage of sheltered housing services for people diagnosed with mental illness. People are negatively affected by long term mental illness in several aspects of their lives. Under normal conditions, cohabitation with such individual is thus very difficult without additional help. As a result, his human social network is weakened and the number of his social contacts decreases. The aim of this master thesis is to find out what are the potential risks that are inherent in the use of the social service of sheltered housing and what can be the recommendations for the social service and the users who are potentially at risk of being socially excluded. The thesis is structured as follows. First part of the thesis includes an overview of mental illnesses, the users of sheltered housing can face. Further, the focus is on the reform of the care for the mentally ill and on the current state of the community care in the Czech Republic and the neighbouring states. The aim of my bachelor thesis ,,Supported Employment as an Instrument of Social Inclusion" is analyzing the service for people who want to search and keep a paid job in the open labour market. The target group of the service needs a professional support to find a job because of their disability or their social situation. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with principles, establishment and representation of the service Supported Employment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis also deals with issues of disability, mechanisms of integration into society, the right to work and be employed, issues of unemployment and tools of active labour market policy. The practical part is based on results by the author. The situation of people who use the service of Supported Employment and people who do not have experience with this service is compared.
Social entrepreneurship: a way to social inclusion of disadvantaged people

This thesis focuses on the intersection of social entrepreneurship and community gardening. In the middle of both of these initiative is man, his wellbeing and the wellbeing of the whole planet. Both of these social and civil initiatives can potentially become places of social integration of handicapped people. Therefore, this work is paying attention to concepts of social exclusion and inclusion, social entrepreneurship and community gardening. Moreover, it deals with the notions of employment and work of disabled people. This theses also contains a program evaluation of a community garden and a social enterprise, Kokoza,o.p.s, which employs people with a mental disease. Looking at the case of this enterprise we can see that the conjunction of a community garden and a social enterprise can be a fitting solution for all the stakeholders: for the establishing organization, for the employees as well as for the community using the garden. The diploma thesis with mentoring program called "Ve dvou se to lépe táhne" which is provided by the Prague non-profit organization Lata. The theoretical part describes the areas of volunteering, mentoring programs and key competencies of a man, so called "soft skills". The crucial part focuses on Lata, her mentoring program and the status of volunteers in the organization. The practical part of the thesis examines the influence of the volunteer program on the career of a volunteer. The data necessary for the research were collected through several techniques such as questionnaire survey, semi-structured interviews and data content analysis. Key reasearch information was obtained through the interviews which were subsequently evaluated by the method of anchored theory. Possibilities of people with disabilities in the labor market

(in English) The work is focused on the possibilities of people with disabilities in the labor market. What kind of services there are, what are the possibilities of finding work both on open labour market and in the sheltered environment. The work also describes what is in the Czech Republic legislation regarding the employment of people with disabilities. The work includes mapping of services, what is offers to to people with disabilities by state employment policy - its pros and cons, accessibility and clarity of the services provided by NGOs, mainly by supported employment as an alternative to the protected labor market. The work also deals with a proposal for the creation and of the workplace, which should be co-financed by the labor office and its active employment policy funds. Workplace should be managed by NGO Rytmus - od klienta k občanovi. The aim is to analyze and capture the particular aspects of the financing and viability of project, which would be within the organization completely new.
