Non-profit organizations are an integral part of the Czech economy and important partner for the government. In today's economic environment, NGOs face increasing competition not only from other similar institutions, but also from for-profit oriented companies. They are, therefore, forced to adopt entrepreneurial marketing techniques in order to succeed in the market. The aim of this Master Thesis is to analyze the non-governmental, non-profit organization INEX-SDA including its marketing strategies, to interpret the results based on marketing theory and to suggest possible improvements that could lead to better public awareness of the chosen organization.
The Asian financial crisis and post-crisis development of newly industrialized countries of Asia

This thesis analyzes the Asian financial crisis by providing a comprehensive view of the development of the economies of the Asian newly industrialized countries before and after the outbreak of the crisis. The aim of this paper is to explore and understand the causes of the crisis and derive practical lessons. The work is structured as follows. The first chapter is theoretical and defines newly industrialized countries by focusing on the characteristics of the economic and social status of these countries in a period of prosperity. The second chapter examines the financial crisis in 1997 - its origin, causes, indicators and progress. The last chapter discusses the impact of the crisis both on countries of Southeast Asia and on the world economy overall. Afterwards, summarizing of the lessons that can be learned from the Asian financial crisis and that remain urgent even nowadays is outlined.
Competitiveness of the EU countries – Comparative Analysis

The diploma thesis focuses on comparative analysis of the EU countries, specifically of the United Kingdom and the Federal Republic of Germany. The paper is divided into four parts. The initial chapter is aimed at specification of the term competitiveness and the methods of measuring the competitiveness. The second and the third part focus on evaluation of chosen countries by using hard indicators and their placement in multicriterial rankings. The last chapter focuses on comparison between the competitiveness of United Kingdom and Germany
Potential of MIST and its influence on international trade

The thesis deals with the analysis of MIST markets (Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey) in comparison to BRIC countries. The aim of the thesis is to emphasise the attractiveness and potential of MIST economies for international business and investments relating to their growing competitiveness. The first chapter introduces world trends in international trade and it describes the origin as well as the development of the group. The carried-out macroeconomic and demographic analysis in the second chapter reveals strengths and weaknesses of the MIST. The third chapter describes trade activities of the MIST and its current position in international trade. The fourth chapter analyses the entrepreneurial and investment environment of the group as well as its level of competitiveness. The carried-out research in the thesis has shown that the MIST economies represent a perspective group of developing markets with potential for trade and investment activities.
The impact of the crisis on the economy of the Slovak Republic

The bachelor thesis is dealing with the current economic crisis in the context of its impact on the economy of the Slovak Republic. Considering the methodology, the thesis is based on synthesis of different approaches and theoretical knowledges in order to systemize the course of crisis and to describe development of Slovak economy through the times of changing geopolitical organization of the world. The goal is to map the impact of the current economic and financial crisis on Slovak economic development in the time of pre-recession and post-recession with regard to the integration to the EU. The first chapter is focused on defining the key concepts complemented with the stances and thoughts of internal and external authors. The second chapter pays attention to the development of Slovak economy from its establishment oriented towards economic policy, macroeconomic indicators of internal and external balance during the economic transformation and integration to the international organizations. The final chapter is concentrating on specifics of Slovak economy during the crisis as well as on analysis of its impacts on economic policy, anti-crisis measures and macroeconomic indicators in comparison to the pre-recession status. At the same time, the theoretical knowledges in the first chapter are being confirmed. Bachelor thesis should provide coherent perspective on Slovak economy so as to better understanding of its governance in the times of forming a significant economic turning points.
International trade of uranium and its impact on world politics

I have written my bachelors thesis on International trade of uranium and its impact on world politics. The main goal is to analyze the evolution of international trade of uranium together with its impact on world events. Statistical and non-statistical data I have mainly taken from the official website of World Nuclear Organization and from statistical outlines made by OECD and IAEA. Based on the research, I have analyzed the Supply and Demand on the international market of uranium together with stating the main areas of extraction. Uranium is due to its importance in the energy and military industry very important strategic raw material that had great significance in the field of international relations in the past. The international trade of uranium is naturally connected with regulatory restrictions that are enforced by international nuclear organizations. The view of this work is the analysis of the impact of uranium on the world events in the last 50 years together with the prediction of the evolution of the international trade of uranium into the future. Although uranium is becoming more and more important source of energy in the future, it is still a subject of many controversial discussions.
Importation of Mexican avocados into the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with the import operation of Mexican avocados into the Czech Republic. It is divided into three chapters. The first chapter defines the trade with agricultural crops and depicts its specifics as well as the global avocado market production and export with its key players. A special attention is focused on Mexico, which has primacy in both categories. The second chapter analyzes the avocado market in the Czech Republic, it studies the consumption trends, import history and our key business partners. It also contains a survey that explores the consumption habits of the Czech population. The third chapter is devoted to the actual import operation of organic avocados from Mexico and all its requirements from vendor selection, business documents, logistics and pricing.
Investment Environment and Foreign Investment Projects in Automotive Industry in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

This thesis researches the investment projects in automotive industry in the Czech Republic and Slovakia which were realized by capital of foreign subjects. Moreover, there is a definition of direct foreign investments and investment environment. These criterions are also used for a comparision between the two countries. The aim of this work is to find out which country has a better environment for investments in automotive industry.
The Czech Business Environment from the Point of View of German Investors

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the Czech business environment, to determine its specifics, strengths and weaknesses including addition of the point of view of German investors. The method of situation analysis of the particular factors, which determine the business environment, with addition of the surveys of ČNOPK based on questionnaire examination, that are regularly done by this institution for several years, and of the individual interviews with the representatives of the firms of German investors or institutions acting in the field of German-Czech economic cooperation, was used to reach this aim. This thesis should be the source of information for the future entrepreneurs on the Czech market, above all for potential German investors.
Czech business environment from the perspective of Italian entrepreneurs

The final thesis deals with the topic "Czech business environment from the perspective of Italian entrepreneurs." It is divided into three chapters. The first chapter covers the business environment in general and evaluates the position of the Czech Republic in various competitiveness rankings or reports. The second chapter describes the Czech business environment -- its state and development from 1989 to the present and evaluates the Czech business environment using the PEST analysis. The last chapter is purely practical and outlines the view of Italian entrepreneurs on the Czech business environment, their opinions and experience gained during doing business in the Czech Republic. The whole thesis is summarized at the end in the SWOT analysis of the Czech business environment.
