Dual diagnosis from a social work perspective

The goal of this bachelor thesis named Dual diagnosis from the standpoint of social work is to shed light on what role a social worker has in the process of a patient's recovery and social rehabilitation from dual diagnosis. In addition to that, this thesis should clarify the position of a social worker in a multidisciplinary team and to describe dual diagnosis as a complex problem from the biopsychosocial standpoint. Both primary and secondary literature (printed and in the form of internet resources) were used as the theoretical framework of this thesis. The theoretical framework should primarily act as a guide to help better understand the phenomenon that is dual diagnosis in the context of social work. Qualitative interviews and case studies were then used as the practical framework for this bachelor thesis. The group of respondents is made up mainly by social workers, psychiatrists, adiktologists, and psychologists that work in the respective field.
