Material analyses of plaster samples of the historical building named “Nové Probošství”, Pražský hrad, nám. sv. Jiří č.p. 34.
Drdácký, Miloš ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Hasníková, Hana ; Hauková, Petra ; Koudelková, Veronika ; Kozlovcev, Petr ; Ševčík, Radek ; Wolf, Benjamin
The report contains the results of the material analyses of plasters and stone samples taken from the facades and interior plasters of the historical building named “Nové Probošství” (Pražský hrad, nám. sv. Jiří č.p. 34).). The topic of the study was determination of the chemical composition and the microstructure of historical plasters and renders, sandstone petrography, porosity of materials by means of MIP, water absorption of plasters by tubes, the water content and the moisture distribution in masonry wall, the content and the chemical composition of water-soluble salts in plasters and renders. The results of the study serves as the basis for the future design of the building renovation and the restoration of the artistic elements.\n
Microscopic features of cement paste modified by fine perlite
Hrbek, V. ; Koudelková, Veronika ; Padevět, P. ; Šašek, Petr
The use of waste material and replacement of binder element in cementitious composites is in focus of material development. Perlite in the construction industry is usually used in form of lightweight aggregate enhancing the insulating performance of concrete. This paper focuses on integration of fine perlite into the cement matrix and possible replacement of the cement binder in the composition of the material. The macromechanical performance of the modified paste is tested on specimens with 5, 10, 15 and 20% fine perlite substitution and pure cement sample. To distinguish the effect of the perlite on the microstructural level, pure cement material and specimen containing 10% of fine perlite are investigated by the electron microscopy. Furthermore, the mechanical properties of individual phases are examined and compared on same samples by instrumented indentation. The presented results enabled estimation of fine perlite impact on the macro and microscopic performance of the material..
Assessment of masonry structures in the room No. 303 on the first floor of Upper Castle of Kunštát State Castle
Drdácký, Miloš ; Frankeová, Dita ; Kloiber, Michal ; Koudelková, Veronika ; Lesák, Jaroslav ; Válek, Jan ; Viani, Alberto
Non-destructive evaluation techniques have been adopted to assess the present situation of the walls with recently discovered frescoes in the rebuilt part of the castle. IR thermography, videoscope and ground penetrating radar were used for the classification of masonry, especially for the detection of hidden structural elements. Samples of historic mortars were analysed by thermal analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The analyses showed that binder of mortars consists of dolomitic lime.
