Welding characteristic of source Omicron Gama 160
Koudela, Michal ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the welding properties of the Omicron Gama 160 inverter power supply. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the experimental parts; the theoretical part deals with the electric arc and the division and description of welding power supplies, especially the Omicron Gama 160. In addition it describes the issues of the selection of suitable electrode and welding parameters and the definitions of the most frequent welding defects including the procedures to prevent them. The second part consists of the experimental verification of the suitable electrode and welding parameters selection. On the basis of the experiment there were elaborated the welding procedure specifications (WPS). The experiment verified that the Omicron Gama 160 power supply is a machine with good price/performance ratio, suitable e. g. for assembly and welding works in a home workshop.

Measurement of roughness of the laser cutting edge by Yb-YAG laser
Dočekal, Miroslav ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
The project carried out in the bachelor's degree program B - STG (“Mechanical Engineering Technology”, 2303R002), evaluates the roughness of the cutting edges of steel plates cut by laser according to the ČSN EN ISO 9013 standard. The test samples were cut by Yb - YAG laser. In total, 11 samples were measured. The samples represent three kinds of material and were cut by two ways of laser cutting; the fusion method and the oxidation method. The samples of stainless steel X10CrNi18-8 were cut by the fusion method and the remaining samples of the DC 01 steel and S235 JRG steel were cut by the oxidation method. The samples were evaluated according to the ČSN EN ISO 9013 standard. The standard evaluates the quality of cut in thermal cutting and classifies individual cuts into accuracy classes. The samples of stainless steel fall into the first and second classes of accuracy. The samples of structural steel all fall into the second class of accuracy. This classification is the outcome of the practical part of the project. The theoretical part deals with the basic principle of laser, its parts, the industrial use of lasers and the lasers most commonly used in industry. It focuses particularly on laser cutting and the parameters which affect the quality of the cut in laser cutting. The measuring of roughness and the ČSN EN ISO 9013 standard are also described.
Measurement of roughness of the laser cutting edge
Pokorák, Milan ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
This thesis primarily deals with the laser material cutting and with the subsequent evaluation of roughness of the cutting edges. The thesis is divided in two parts, the theoretical part followed by the practical one. The theoretical section is concerned with the introduction to laser technology and with the basics of roughness measurement. It contains the history of laser, its construction and its physical principle. It also deals with the description of laser types and laser technologies. An important part is about the surface texture, which includes basic terms and methods of roughness measurement. The practical section is concerned with the comparison of roughness of the cutting edges. They were measured on S235JR steel samples with the value declared in ČSN EN ISO 9013 standard. This part contains the measurement results, the measured material and also machines and devices used. The overall evaluation of the practical measurement is mentioned in the final experiment outcome evaluation.
Measurement of roughness of the laser cutting edge
Vaculka, Jakub ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
This bachelor thesis elaborated as a part of branch 2307 engineering studies describes metal laser cutting and its industrial use. The thesis consists of theoretical part and experimental part. The theoretical part describes physical and constructive principle of industrial lasers, its individual types, advantages and use. The experimental part goes into results of common quality steel oxidizing cutting. The CO2 laser from TRUMPF company was used in this experiment. Cut defect appearance and final roughness of cutting edge were the subject of evaluation. The conclusion summarizes effect of material chemical composition and cutting proces parameters on cutting results.
Structual welding of aluminium alloy
Blahák, Petr ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The project elaborated in frame of engineering studies branch 2303R002 presents a project that contains welding a structure made of aluminium alloy. There were two usable methods selected, based on literal study of welding aluminium alloys, TIG welding and friction welding, and these were compared with alternative methods of joining, hard soldering and bonding. A work procedure was made for TIG method, soldering and bonding and four experimental joins were made thereafter. Project compares these methods mainly in economical way, also in way of technological difficulties and in way of observance the strength of base materials. Project also deals with problems with lowering strength of base material in heat affected area, burn out of thin material, tendency of aluminium to fill with hydrogen, quick oxidation and consequent hard surface layer emerging on the aluminium.
Influence of welding parameters (U,I)on metal transfer during MIG/MAG welding of steel
Bardoň, Václav ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Daněk, Ladislav (advisor)
I was concerned with welding method of gas metal arc welding at inert or active shielding gas MIG/MAG. First of all are described forces interacting with drop of metal inside arc, other part of bachelor work is addicted to basic separation of electric arcs and metal transfers. The last part is addicted to the influence of welding voltage and current for size of welding work areas in different metal transfers and their effects for quality and shape of welding joint.
Analysis of welding by LASERHYBRID process
Teplý, Jan ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Kovář, Petr (advisor)
The project is elaborated for the basic analysis of hybrid welding that combines laser welding with other welding methods, especially with the MIG and MAG technologies. Besides the Laserhybrid process the methods, of which this Laserhybrid welding is composed, are also presented here. These methods are compared considering the aspects: firstly their advantages or disadvantages, followed by the welding performance, the economic aspect or the application in mechanical engineering. The welding using the relatively new and so far not much widely used Laserhybrid method is very efficient especially for the weld jointing of various bodywork parts. Respectively, this method is efficient for its smaller molten pool, better gap bridging and also for its economic aspect to reduce production times.
Possibilities of heat transfer regulation while MIG/MAG welding
Mášová, Pavla ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Daněk, Ladislav (advisor)
The project is elaborated in terms of bachelor's studies of branch 2307. The project is submitting possibilities of heat transfer regulation while MIG/MAG welding. Energy storage welding is a conventional method of heat regulation. Other methods were developed by company producing welding unit. A company Kemppi offers a method Fast Root for the heat regulation, methods Rapid Arc and Rapid Melt were developed by AGA AB and company Lincoln Electric offers a method Surface Tension Transfer. Method Cold Metal Transfer by Fronius company and ColdArc by EWM company are used for reduction of heat transfer into the weld steel-aluminium.
