The Position of Chaplains and Their Work Conditions in Health Care Facilities

The thesis called The position of chaplains and their work conditions in health care facilities deals with the issue of spiritual care in health care facilities. It describes in detail the providers of this service D hospital chaplains D and their position and work position in hospitals. The paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter deals with the spiritual care in a general way, describes the personality of chaplains and outlines health care facilities situation. The second part mentions qualification requirements of hospital chaplains and describes the system of education both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The third chapter focuses on the position of hospital chaplains, the conditions of their work in hospitals and compares the situation in the Czech Republic with the one abroad. The following part describes a so called multidisciplinary hospital team and its course of cooperation. Part five deals with religious discussion and the most frequent patient topics encountered by hospital chaplains. Pastoral care at the facilities of The Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren

This work deals with pastoral care at the facilities of The Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (DECCB) with a focus on residential facilities for the elderly. It brings a closer look into the organization DECCB, its history and organizational culture, it summarizes the current knowledge of elderly age. Attention is paid to communication with seniors as well as to residence facilities for the elderly and to spiritual needs in elderly age. The practical part of the thesis presents the results of qualitative research carried out among pastoral workers who work in the residential homes for elderly people. The research deals with the offer of pastoral care in homes, specific questions within individual pastoral care of the elderly, and also personal requirements of the pastoral worker.
The Maria Montessori's Method of Religious Educationin Ecumenical Catechesis.

The thesis focuses on the Maria Montessori's method of religious education, how it has taken root in christian catechesis. The purpose of the Petra Bandhauer thesis is to analyse its principles, to describe its development and the way of reception by the educationalists. To provide a deeper glimpse into the field of the theological anthropology the author compares some of Montessori's opinions, most criticised, with the views of Wolfhart Pannenberg and Karl Rahner. The last aim is to introduce the way of reflection of Montessori religious education in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and in Godly Play, to examine their practice both in Germany and in the Czech Republic and to highlight the potential they have for the spiritual formation of children in the ecumenical christian society.
Blahoslav Pípal as Verbi Divini Minister

The Master thesis "Blahoslav Pípal as Verbi Divini Minister" offers a theological profile of a preacher. It is divided into six chapters. The introduction presents the character of the study. The second chapter describes the preacher ́s itinerary - Pípal ́s activity in several congregations of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethern (ČCE). The third chapter is devoted to the thematical analysis of his sermons (main themes are God, christology, Church, life, man). The first part of the fourth chapter features the form and the structure of Pípal ́s sermons. It shows how the preacher works with the biblical text and how he addresses the auditory. Principles and Methods of Coaching in Pastoral Work

Goal of this diploma thesis is to analyse and assess, to what extent participation in a long-term coaching training influenced efficiency of pastoral interviews held by pastors. Theoretical part defines and describes servant, pastor, pastoral care, clarifies contents and focus of coaching, compares psychotherapy, coaching, counselling and pastoral care and searches for common features and tensions in between them. Practical part defines research questions and sums up findings of semi-structures interviews with pastors - graduates of the coaching training after several years. The Existing Practice of Prison Chaplaincy Service

The existing practice of prison chaplaincy service. Master's thesis called The Existing Practice of Prison Chaplaincy Service is about purpose and object of prison chaplaincy service from the view of prison chaplains. The theoretical part presents volunteer pastoral care in prison and employee pastoral care in prison including history and object of these both parts. Master's thesis looks into personal character of chaplain, summarizes scope of his employment and different duties in custodial sentence and in sentence of imprisonment. The practical part come out from qualitative elaboration interviews with four chaplains (two were men and two were women) and also with one former user of prison chaplaincy service. The original intention of this master's thesis (purpose and object of prison chaplaincy service from the view of chaplain) has been extended by two new objects (describe personal way of faith and surroundings of prison) pursuant to interview with former user. Results brings different perception of purpose and objects of prison chaplaincy service - hope, change, self-improvement, correction of personal character and self-understanding. Christianity in the schooling process at the czech high schools

The thesis monitors the way of teaching about Christianity on the Czech high schools with quadrennial education programme. Every chapter processes one factor which influences the teaching. First chapter pursues the normative document Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education, which includes elementary quotas of the prescript curriculum and which is the basis for the school plans, contained in the School Education Programmes. The second chapter compares the school education programmes of few high schools and studies how much space is left for Christianity in the teaching of constituent subjects or grades. Third chapter compares the textbooks that are used in the teaching of the subjects being analysed as principal for the information about Christianity in the second chapter. These are history, geography, Czech language and history of the literature and basis of social sciences. Fourth chapter labours few interviews with the students and enriches the thesis with their opinions about the real form of teaching.
Christmas dramas for children and teenagers in ČCE

The purpose of my diploma thesis Christmas dramas for children and teenagers in ČCE is to find out if authors of Christmas dramas in ČCE work with them as valid parts of catechetical work with children and teenagers. I decided to make analysis of some texts of Christmas theater plays, which are freely distributed in the church. First chapter tries to analyze how children relate to the work on a drama and what are the benefits of this work. Second chapter deals with theory of writing dramas for children and teenagers. Chapter three deals with analysis of two biblical texts Matt 1:18-2:23 and Luke 1:5-2:40 because they are often used as a source for Christmas dramas. Chapter four deals with analysis of three Christmas plays written by members of ČCE for congregations of ČCE. The emphasis is mainly on theological and pedagogical analysis. The conclusion of my analysis is that authors of Christmas dramas in ČCE do not work with them as valid parts of catechetical work. A so-called Layman in the Protestant Churches

This thesis deals with the term layman in the church background, especially in the Protestant one. It searches for roots of understanding of laicism in Bible, in the history of the church and in the present Protestant environment of Czech Republic. It defines the term layman in relation to its church counterpart, which is usually considered clergy. It observes, what kind of activities are within the authority of laymen and what kind of activities are beyond their power. It investigates proper ecclesiological models, that allow laymen to be used in the biblical way according to their charisma.
