Cultivation of hops (Humulus lupulus L.) and its use
KORCOVÁ, Žaneta
Hop differs from other agricultural plants in view of the fact that it is a perennial plant. It can grow at one site up to 20 years. There are three recognized hop production areas in the Czech Republic such as Žatecko, Úštecko and Tršice. The quality of the cones is high mainly due to the range of plant variety and also due to the favourable environmental conditions. Hop cultivation technology was already explored a long time ago, and therefore the new resources are rarely available and also widely scattered. The aim of this thesis is to describe the hops cultivation technology and its food and non-food utilization. This work includes botanical characteristics, farming techniques, fertilization, and protection against pests, harvest and post-harvest treatment. Furthermore there is description of the influence of agricultural engineering or fertilization on quality of hops. This bachelors thesis also depicts food and non-food use of hops.
Growing and usage of hemp in Czech Republic
KOMÁRKOVÁ, Jana
The aim is to summarize information on growing possibilities of using hemp in the CR. Hemp is dioecious and monoecious crop that is grown for seed, fiber and biomass. In our area most often grown for seed, it is easier to harvest. In 2012 the Czech Republic had sown 275 ha of arable land. On the Czech market, the use of crops still growing. Businesses use it in many sectors, such as thermal insulation in the construction industry. In cosmetics it is used mainly due to oil which contains unsaturated fatty acids, hemp products and achieve demonstrable medicinal effects in diseases eczema and psoriasis. In 2013, also in Volary opened the first hemp bath with us, which thus became the largest in Europe. The work is prepared by literature review summarizes the knowledge of the botanical characteristics, principles of cultivation, utilization, economics, regulation and the growing use of state policy. Addendum to the literary section contains contact with growers and processors (questionnaire, hemp yields, photographic documentation of plants and products).
Qualitative parameters of triticale grains
PLÁNSKÁ, Vlasta
Triticale is a hybrid of rye and wheat. After both parents got good features. It is tolerant to worse conditions than wheat cultivation and has good health. Master thesis , Qualitative properties of grain triticale '' presents a comparison of the yield and quality evaluation of basic parameters of grain triticale. Among the selected quality parameters were included in the weight of a thousand grains, moisture , density and chemical composition of the grains. In 2010 and 2011 he was at the experimental plot Faculty of Agriculture, University of South Bohemia based varietal tests . Was grown and monitored 13 varieties of triticale. Based on the results of the thesis yielded the following conclusions. The values recorded for most varieties suggest the possibility of a potential for the breeding area of bakers use. The varieties showed lower gluten content and lower results in Zeleny test. The varieties have low values protein fraction and N-compounds. To improve the feeding value would increase the recommended dose of nitrogen fertilization. For the milling using these varieties are not suitable because of lower bulk density. Relatively good application would find these varieties in the use of bioethanol as a lower protein content means higher starch content. The results showed that triticale is more appropraite Grain other more intensive cultivation.
