Využití alternativních postupů (homeopatie) v zahradnické produkci

The object of this dissertation was the evaluation of influence of homeopathic remedies on qualitative and health condition of planting stock. Observed parameters were weight of aboveground part of plants and leaf surface. In the literary part is quoted the research which describes present foundation and knowledge on using of homeopathic remedies in protection of plants. In experimental part of methodology are described three experiments which were performed in the area of Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice during selected periods of years 2013 and 2014. The experimental crops were head cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata) and Chinese cabbage (Brassica pekinensis). Altogether there were tested three homeopathic remedies (Carbo vegetabilis, Acidum salicylum, Silicea) in various plant-growing conditions with various number of applications. In all tested remedies during particular tests was noticed statistically significant difference.

Myrmecochory - evolutionary and ecological context

Various aspects of myrmecochory were investigated. Effect of different storage methods on atractiveness of seeds with elaiosomes for ants was examined. Viable seed bank of refuse piles (places where ants deposit unused objects from ant nests, e.g. seeds after the elaiosome was eaten) and places outside them were compared. Chemical content of five major chemical groups, specifically amino acids, free fatty acids, organic acids, polyols and sugars, of elaiosomes and seeds of selected species was determined, and compared with respect to their taxonomic relatedness.

An Analysis of Compound Plant Names

The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to carry out the detailed synchronic analysis of compound plant names in English terminology. In the theoretical part it summarizes different approaches to the classification based on an available literature, from which the best approach to the applied analysis will be chosen. In the practical part it compares the frequency of occurrence of these categories and analyses the prevailing trends. In the final part a detailed analysis of noun-noun compound is provided, with the focus on the semantic relation between the two parts, which are not explicitly expressed in those compounds.

Nárvh ekologické sítě v katastrálním území obce Olešínky

This work deals with the definition of biotope in the cadastral territory Olešínky. The cadastral area Olešínky habitats have been identified and determine the degree of ecological stability. After the establishment of habitats is divided to physiotypes. In these bio-types were determined by plants and animals species. Species were included to the habitats according their occurrence with observation. The observation was carried out during one year. The aim of the work was to identify existing major segments with a predominance of natural landscapes and natural communities with higher biodiversity. The next task was to design a bio-centers and corridors on this area. As a result, it was found according to the degree of ecological stability in the territory under study is 0.1% of the major sites, 33.9% partially major sites and 66% of minor sites.

Stanovení biologicky aktivních substancí v rostlinném materiálu

This thesis is focused on the determination of antioxidants and antioxidant activity. In the first work DMPD method was optimized to determine the antioxidant activity of antioxidants standards and the reaction was monitored depending on the time, temperature and concentration. In the second work automated determination of antioxidant activity of phenolic compounds standards rutin, quercitrine and standards of phenolic acids gallic acid and ferulic acid was tested using five different methods used in the determination of antioxidant activity using an automated pipetting machines and spectrophotometer. In the third work phenolic profile and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) was determined in apricot cultivars with methods high frequency liquid chromatography with tandem electrochemical and UV spectrometric detection and these two methods were compared. In the fourth work electrochemical methods used for the determination of phenolic compounds were described. In the fifth work oxidative stress induced by silver ions in the Staphylococcus aureus bacterial culture was investigated using spectrophotometric and electrochemical methods.

Semantic Shift in Plant Names

The aim of the present work is to identify and list English plant names coined by semantic shift, namely by metaphor, metonymy or synecdoche, and to carry out a detailed categorisation of individual semantic categories based on different tendencies within them and interpretation of the results. The theoretical part of my work focuses on different approaches to semantic shift and its categories. It is followed by the practical part which deals individually with metaphor, metonymy and synecdoche, their sub-categorisations and then with overlapping of the above-mentioned categories. The work is concluded with several case-studies of interesting instances of semantically shifted plant names and with the summary and conclusion of the results of my study.
