Physiotherapy after the forearm and the hand injuries
POLÁKOVÁ, Jana
My bachelor thesis dealing with the topic Physiotherapy after forearm and hand injuries, describes not only the complete anatomy of the forearm and hand, characteristics of the particular injuries and the complications thereof, but also examination methods and possibilities of rehabilitation, by means of which the patients frequently regain former functions of the extremity affected. The thesis aims to find out whether patients are able to return to their original occupations as well as their original hobbies. The research part, in which the casuistic method and that of a free conversation with patients in the course of their attendance to rehabilitation procedures were used, contains descriptions of diagnoses and examinations of two patients with a different therapy success. The conclusion of the thesis resulted in the fact that the convalescence success of patients and their return to work largely depends on how complicated their diagnoses are and on the character of their work. In my opinion patients should be provided with a complex care, which includes timely medical help and subsequent physiotherapy and ergotherapy. A very substantial problem that is omitted is the patients{\crq} mental state, and for that reason the convalescence process should involve possible visits to a psychologist. Another essential thing is to inform the patient systematically on his/her state and future, and his/her motivation for his/her effort of improvement.
The Training System of Pilates and Effects on Movement Body System
GLIEROVÁ, Jaroslava
At present there are a fast growing number of physiotherapists and their clients who discover Pilates, a form of body and mind exercises that have a positive influence on the rehabilitation of injuries (Wilson, 2005). The principles of the Pilates method are identical with some physiotherapeutic concepts and methods (e.g. Mensendieck, Feldenkrais). The application of the Pilates exercises is spread especially among physiotherapists in the USA. In this country it is practiced a part of fitness exercises. This thesis deals with connecting the principles of the Pilates method with physiotherapeutic methods, their application in practice and confirming their positive effect on the change in body posture. The theoretical part deals with the analysis of the information as yet achieved on the Pilates exercises. It defines the Pilates exercises, sums up information from the history of the exercises, mentions the basic principles and their principal connection. The principles of breathing and describes the ``centre{\crqq} by the effort for explaining the subject matter from the professional point of view, and finally, it deals with the subject matter of the incorrect body posture. The practical part presents a set of exercises applicable in the prevention of the incorrect body posture, as a reason of vertebrogenic troubles. The quantitative strategy was used for the reasons of the empirical part. To confirm the effect of the Pilates exercises on the change in body posture, the development of the thoracic vertebral column in flexion and extension, I used Otto{\crq}s test. The results were statistically evaluated by the pair t-test. RESULTS: the positive influence of Pilates on body posture was confirmed.
Injuries of knee joint and consequential physiotherapy after crossed ligaments plastic
ŠKABROUD, Libor
This work deals with questions of injuries of the fibrous apparatus of the knee joint, especially with the injury of ligamentum cruciatum anterius (LCA). The theoretical part summarizes the basic information relating to the problems of injuries of the fibrous apparatus of the knee. In the following, it offers an abstract of recent methods of physiotherapy used while dealing with patients with LCA plastic. The evaluation of the research, which compares the efficiency of the physiotherapy between two patients with LCA plastic (one active sportsman and the other a non sportsman), discovered that the therapy was more effective in the sportsman case, especially in term of faster growth of muscles.
Physioterapeutic impact on apparatus of movement during pregnancy and preparation to the labour
KOTRŠALOVÁ, Jana
This bachelor work was aimed at the effect of individual physiotherapy on apparatus of movement during pregnancy and preparation to the labour. The first objective of my research was to find out whether the women who underwent individual physiotherapy in their pregnancy, in addition to the above stated courses, suffered minor problems connected with the locomotive apparatus before and during the parturition than the women who did not undergo individual therapy. I also addressed parturition, particularly duration of the first delivery period and pains during the delivery. Both objectives of my research have been attained. The anamneses of the women were obtained, kinesiological analyses were made and for one of the women a short-term plan was elaborated according to which the therapy was undertaken; subsequently the final analysis of the obtained results was performed. Two hypotheses have followed from my research. According to my first hypothesis, individually controlled physiotherapy undertaken during pregnancy can positively influence the locomotive apparatus of every pregnant woman. The second hypothesis claims that individual physiotherapeutic care has no significant effect on the course of the parturition.
The Progress of Muscular Dysbalances by University Students
BÖHM, Pavel
This bachelor work was aimed at the progress of muscular dysbalances by university students. The aim of the thesis was to survey a rough structured profile of weekly physical activities of a university student and determine the most critical motoric activities leading to the muscle imbalance development. To achieve the objectives quantitative research was used. The case study technique was applied when the person observed took a record of his physical activities during a twenty-four hour period on a work day.
Self - support in patients after the stroke
VANĚK, Filip
My thesis deals with the change of self-sufficiency of a patient after a vascular brain damage (VBD). The research covered nurses working at a neurology ward, aftercare wards, nurses working for homr-care agencies and patients after. I chose this topic as VBDs represent a serious medical-social problem and secondarily also an economic problem. At present they represent the third most frequent cause of death in the Czech Republic as well as in other developed countries. This is why they deserve increased attention, which has not been paid to them in practice so far.
Health education in relation to prevention cancer breast.
VÍTKOVÁ, Adéla
Health Education in relation to Breast Cancer Prevention was not a topic chosen coincidentally. The fact that I encountered this illness in my own family contributed to my decision. I read over and collect a lot of information. There is an inexhaustible amount of publications, references, associations, commercial and medial projects, though the breast cancer diagnosis is on the top position of mortality causes not only in the Czech Republic but worldwide. In the course of collecting all data I found out that there exists the only prevention - early diagnostics and screening, on which I focused in the second part of my thesis. Health Education is the ideal instrument for preventive education programme and its further promotion. That is why I hope that comprehensive elaboration of this topic will be used as a methodological source.
Training of the back at vertebrogenous patients
ZEISKOVÁ, Kateřina
The world statistics state that 80% of the population encounter pains in the back. These problems were accelerated by modern times, that thanks, to the technical comfort, brought to many people health troubles resulting from the lack of exercise. I chose the subject {\clqq} Training of the back`` because I work as physiotherapist and the people feeling pains in the back belong to my profession every day. I occupy myself with the given problems. Considering the present state of the given problems, I concentrated on the most important connection concerning the training of the back. First, I described the backbone as a part of the locomotory system. Another guideline that was interconnection of muscular groups of the back, chest, abdomen and of the pelvis, that build the muscular corset. I described locomotory stereotypes and disorders there of in particular relations. Integral part of the present state that is the origin of the pain, its cause, diagnosis and therapy. In the theoretical part I dealt with general principles as to the training of the back and with the importance of this training for the therapy of vertebrogenous patients. The aim of the work and of the research was to discover whether a change in locomotory stereotypes before and after therapy took place at patients with pains in lumbosacral part of the backbone and to propose for three different professions the therapy inclusive of necessary regiment measures. The hypothesis was proclaimed that the therapy including also the training of the back will bring about the change locomotory habits of the patients. Secondary analysis of data from health documentation in combination with directly watching the patents were used as technology of the research. The last form of the research is the questionnaire interviewing of the patients suffering from pains in the lumbosacral part of the backbone. It concerns an integral research with prevailing technologies of quantitative research. The basic check group, that are clients of the physiotherapeutical clinic, who suffer from back pains in the lumbosacral part of the backbone. 100 patients altogether underwent the therapy. They were given the same number of questionnaires. All of them were returned. Theoretical questionnaire investigation was under way from October 2007 to March 2008. I used diagrams in processing the collected data and show the results in percentages. I chose three different professions in the course of therapy, and that secretary, forester and student doing sport and I proposed for them the therapy of back pain, that included also the training of their backs and regimen measures as pain prevention. The proclaimed hypothesis was confirmed in connection with the aim of the work. The research work, I carried out, present analysis of particular locomotory stereotypes. The results showed that locomotory habits had been improved after the therapy in direction to psychology. If the patients observe the stereotypes, they learnt and continue the physiotherapy, I chose, and the part of which is also the training of the back, helped not only the patients themselves, but that it brought benefit for the whole physiotherapeutical clinic. The work will be exploited for organization of seminars on the given place of work.
Physiotherapy as part of comprehensive treatment in patients with acquired temporomandibular joint dysfunction
NĚMCOVÁ, Barbora
The subject matter of my undergraduate thesis is acquired dysfunctionality of the temporomandibular joint. The concept incorporates a number of funcional and structural changes and pathological conditions affecting not only the mandibula as such but also the overall posture of the organism as a whole due to sequential spasms. Temporomandibular disorders have a multifactor etiology and very diverse clinical image, which often makes diagnostics quite difficult. Generally, increasing psychic tension, emotional stress, and occlusive relations are believed to count amongst the main causes. According to some studies, up to 50 % of the population suffers from some type of disorder of the temporomandibular joint. As treatment of these conditions can be problematic and time-consuming, both the pacient and the therapist have to be patient. The theoretical part of my thesis concentrates on mapping the problems arising from dysfunctionality of the temporomandibular joint, whereas the practical part contains causalistic elaboration of two female patients diagnosed with this condition. My research was conducted using the method of qualitative causalistics. The first female patient was diagnosed with degenerative changes in the right mandibular joint causing diminished mobility of the lower jaw, affecting the functionality of the patient{\crq}s right ear and body posture. The second female patient suffered functionality disorder in the form of dislocation of the mandibular joint{\crq}s disk, asymmetric movement of the jaw when opening her mouth, and irregular stereotype of breathing. In both patients, the therapy was adjusted to the diagnosis and each patient{\crq}s momentary condition. Primarily, their treatment was focused on their hypertonic muscles and sequential spasms, followed by relaxation of their chewing muscles, training of symmetrical mouth opening, breathing stereotypes, and sensomotoric elements. The patients were instructed how to do suitable autotherapeutic exercises. The therapeutic sessions took place twice a week over a six-week period. In both patients, the results were satisfactory. With the first patient, her ability to open her mouth and her overall posture improved. With the second patient, the unpleasant noise phenomenon when opening her mouth was removed and the asymmetry of mouth movement was diminished. Moreover, she learned to adopt a regular breathing stereotype. My thesis can be useful in the clinical practice of physiotherapists, physicians, and other medical personnel, as well as a source of information for patients.
Physiotherapy for patients with Morbus Bechtěrev
KANTOROVÁ, Vanda
This Bachelor paper deals with physiotherapy given to patients suffering from the Bechterew's disease. The paper consists of a theoretical section and a practical section. The theoretical section describes the anatomical structures of axial skeleton, the biomechanics of spinal column, and it defines spondylarthritis generally. Moreover, the paper provides a detailed analysis of the Bechterew's disease (i.e. the ankylosing spondylitis), its examination, treatment and the application of physiotherapeutic procedures. The practical section depicts physiotherapy applied specifically to treat three randomly chosen patients of the Aurora Spa based in Třeboň, as the treatment was administered between 5 March and 9 April, 2010. The first objective pursued in the paper is the evaluation of some selected methods of physiotherapy used in treatment of the Bechterew's disease patients. In the second objective the paper tries to assess the effect that the methods could have on the disease prognosis. The paper relied on the methods of a qualitative survey, and the data were gathered using these techniques: anamnesis, interview, observation (kinesiologic analysis) and the secondary analysis of data. The paper can do the duty of study and instructional material for students, the lay public and for health-care professionals.
