The quality of raw materials for beer production

The subject of the thesis "The quality of raw materials for beer production" is a quality brewing ingredients - barley malt, malt, hops, water and brewer's yeast. Individual ingredients are generally characterized. The main part of the thesis deals with the assessment of quality of raw materials according to various criteria such as the genetic basis, agroecological factors, and technological requirements. The paper also discusses the methods of measurement quality.
Czech hop as a geographical and cultural phenomenon

This Bachelor's Thesis focuses on Czech hops and hop industry as a spatial, geographical and cultural phenomenon. The aim is to describe the history of growing hops in the Czech Republic and determine how the tradition of hop industry influenced Czech culture, urbanism and landscape. The work contains information on hop growing regions and their historical development. The paper also provides statistics on the hop growing, hop varieties and export. Special attention is paid to the city of Žatec (Saaz) - the largest centre of the Czech hop industry. The thesis also shows how hop industry influenced urbanism and culture in Žatec. The practical part is dedicated to entertaining and educational complex called Hop and Beer Temple which is an important tourist target built in historical industrial buildings in the centre of Žatec.
Identification of Hop Cluster

The main goal of the thesis is an analysis of contemporary unpleasant situation in the hop growing area and verification, that foundation of a hop cluster may help hop growers simplify their business and increase their profitability. For the analysis of the mentioned area I have used Porter's diamond model. In the thesis there are described elementary principles of cluster working, its geographic definition set by its membership and even a SWOT analysis, focused especially on benefits of cluster hop growers benefits. In the conclusion I have outlined the possible ways of cluster financing from private and public sources.
