Interactions of pharmaceuticals with fulvic acids – calorimetric study
Papko, Nadezhda ; Sedláček, Petr (oponent) ; Klučáková, Martina (vedoucí práce)
The focus of this master thesis was to investigate the interactions between soil organic matter and various drugs (ibuprofen, diclofenac, sulfapyridine) using isothermal titration calorimetry. The experiment included the use of three fulvic acids and drugs, which were dissolved in NaCl and MgCl2 solutions due to the presence of the metal ions in soil organic matter. Drug mobility in soil is dependent on sorption, which refers to the interaction between drugs and soil particles. The sorption behaviour is influenced by factors such as drug properties, soil properties, and environmental conditions. To optimize the ITC method for the study, the experimental work was facilitated, and the data evaluation was improved. Thermal effects were determined, measured, and compared to investigate the interactions between fulvic acids and drugs.
