LIDAR sensing of the atmosphere: application to CO2 detection
Císař, David ; Hudcová, Lucie (oponent) ; Diego, José Luis Arce (vedoucí práce)
Knowledge of the spatial distribution, concentration and sources of atmospheric CO2 is a key factor for understanding of the carbon natural cycle, predicting evolution and the impact of carbon dioxide on climate changes. This work deals with optical remote sensing using LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). It contains necessary theoretical background of LIDAR system, the use and principles. LIDAR is used in many applications. The application, realization and measurement of concentration CO2 in the atmosphere with DIAL (Differential Absorption LIDAR) are outlined and also the use of other active and passive sensing techniques of CO2.
The effect of meteorology and aerosol size distribution on light scattering properties at a rural background site in Central Europe
Suchánková, Lenka
The aim of this study is to characterize the light scattering properties of aerosols at the rural background site National Atmospheric\nObservatory Košetice (NAOK; 49°34’20.787”N, 15°4’48.155”E) in Central Europe, namely the coefficients of total light scattering (σsp) and backscattering (σbsp), the Ångström exponent (SAE), the backscattering ratio (b), and the asymmetry factor (g), with special attention to the influence of meteorology and aerosol size distribution on these properties. We measured σ𝑠𝑝 and σ𝑏𝑠𝑝 at three wavelengths (450, 550, and 700 nm) using the Integrating Nephelometer TSI 3563 (PM10 inlet). The measurements were performed from August 16, 2012 to December 31, 2019.

The Otdr Detector Noise Effect Of The Plasma Current Detection In Tokamak-Type Fusion Reactors
Motuz, Rastislav
This paper presents a theoretical analysis dealing with the plasma current measurement in tokamaks. A Polarization Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (POTDR) setup was used, where the general case of non-uniform magnetic field distribution along the sensing fibre takes place. As a sensing medium, a low birefringent fibre has been chosen. The work is based on the numerical simulations in therms of the Jones formalism and takes into account the OTDR detector noise reflecting the measurement error as a function of the plasma current. The measurement performance is evaluated for an ITER-relevant sensor configuration. Simulation results reveal that for plasma currents from the range of 0 to 1 MA, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 6 dB complies with the ITER requirements. Subsequently, the SNR level of 4 dB satisfies the plasma current range of 1 to 20 MA. The SNR level of 6 dB is achievable in modern POTDRs.

Backscatter modulator for UHF RFID tag emulator
Janošík, T.
The paper describes design of external backscatter modulator for RFID tag emulator, which is used in UHF band. This modulator is connected with the Universal Software Radio Peripheral and antenna. Realization of a backscatter modulation contains switching between a matched load and an unmatched load. Impedance of the unmatched load is fluently adjustable.
