Application for demonstration of sound effects

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and implementation of phaser, auto-wah, compressor, limiter, expander, tremolo, vibrato and distortion sound effects. The thesis consists of a set of applications that demonstrate the aforementioned sound effects through a graphical user interface in a MATLAB programming environment. The applications guide the user step by step through the process of implementing a particular effect. They allow to freely set and change individual parameters of the effect, whose changes are immediately and clearly visualized. The applications also provide the possibility to play back either original or effect-modified audio signals. The apps are learning environments that allow the user to understand the functionality of a given effect through an interactive experience.

The thesis focus on transfer analog audio signal through audio effects, which can be combined any kind. Switching is realized with signal relay, which is control by microcontroller Atmel ATMega 128. Target group of user is musicians, which play live concert, while using many individual audio effects.
