This bachelor thesis investigates the issue of sample preparation in the field of microbiology and medical diagnostics with an emphasis on the automated robotic system MBT Pathfinder, developed by \bruker. Using digital imaging techniques and convolutional neural networks, the thesis focuses on improving the algorithm for identifying the position of microbial colonies in the MBT Pathfinder system. The practical part of the thesis presents innovative approaches to optimize critical sample preparation steps to eliminate errors and increase process efficiency. The results of this work can enhance the reliability of microbiological analyses in medical diagnostics and microbiological research.
