Smart charger with cell identification
Alechko, Ivan ; Harvánek, Michal (oponent) ; Kubíček, Michal (vedoucí práce)
The thesis aim is to select an appropriate method of individual rechargeable battery cell identification and to select a suitable charging method. RFID was selected among others as the most suitable identification technology. The RIFD design is described so that it can be later implemented. The thesis also deals with methods of charging battery cells. The charging characteristics are described concerning particular cell chemistry. For the final implementation (functional demonstrator) Ni-MH chemistry was chosen. The design is focused on both efficiency and safety. Another task was to implement long-term monitoring of charging parameters of individual cells during many charging cycles. For this purpose, a microcontroller was selected that will keep track of these data over all individual cells.
