Binary and multi-component homogeneous nucleation in aqueous systems: A process or a thermophysical property?

We present a detailed treatise of selected parts of the binary nucleation theory, focussing on the problems arising for aqueous systems. Although nucleation depends, in general, on the history of the process, in most cases it can be approximated as quasi-stationary and the nucleation rate should be considered a thermophysical property. Even in fully transient cases, nucleation is predictable based on a set of thermophysical data.

Analysis and development of volume-functions of two-constant equation of state applicable in a broader range of critical compressibility factors than up to now

It was found that in equations of state (EOS) of the van der Waals type the function describing the least incompressible volume (coefficient b) should also decrease with the growing critical compressibility factor (CF). Ten new two-constant (2c) volume-functions and for comparison also a similar group of 3c EOS are presented which should be more universal than until now developed EOS. Also expressions following from the critical point conditions are given.
