Dimensional stability of investment Al castings
Úředníček, Lukáš ; Cileček, Jarmil (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to compare a bottom filling of a ceramic form made by lost wax process and a top filling conventional method. A computer simulation of filling and casting solidification will contribute to this comparison. The comparison includes evaluation of readings DAS and characteristic readings of porosity with chosen varieties of casting. The results show that the readings DAS did not change much but characteristic readings of porosity were much better at bottom filling. The computer simulation also showed a certain contribution in the field of model smelting technology.
Present state of investment casting technology
Ševčík, Lukáš ; Soukupová, Lucie (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes investment casting process in each phases of manufacturing the final casting i.e. from master die, wax pattern, ceramic shell, dewaxing process, metal pouring up to finishing operations and final casting inspection. This work is focused on the latest trends in these areas.
Possibilities of using filtration in lost wax technology
Boček, Vítězslav ; Soukupová, Lucie (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Final thesis, elaborated within the bachelor study field of Manufacturing technology, deals with literary analysis of using filtration in lost wax technology and with designing of best gating system for those filters. As result of this thesis the best criteria for choosing the best filter for aplication in lost wax casting and literary study maping possibilities of locating those filters in gating system was compiled.
Present state of investment casting technology
Matoušek, Roman ; Soukupová, Lucie (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Survey of the most modern trends in investment casting technology focused to manufacture of wax pattern and ceramic shell, de-wax process and final heat treatment of the shell prior pouring.
Investment casting – progressive foundry technology
Blažík, Petr ; Macků, Martin (referee) ; Mikulka, Vít (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to bring special retrieval about possibilities of investment casting technology used for casting dimensional accurate products from aluminum alloys together with lost-wax process. The thesis deals with problems of the dimensional accuracy and the surface quality of casts produced by this technology. Further a thesis is focused on possibilities of increasing mechanical properties by the modification of casting procedure. At the end a thesis describes special technologies used for casting dimensional accurate aluminum alloys products used in aerospace industry, their principle and reachable mechanical properties.
Actual trends in manufacture of ceramic shell moulds
Štipl, Pavel ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the current trends in the production of ceramic shell moulds. The first part describes the history of investment casting, their use and an overview of world production. In the following parts is out of print the production process of ceramic shell mould using contemporary materials and technologies. The final section describes the defects associated with the production of ceramic shell moulds. The aim of this work is to create a literature search focused on raw materials and processes used to create a ceramic shell mould for investment casting technology.
Improving the properties of turbochargers by the application of TiAl alloys
Kuňák, Jiří ; Malec, Silvestr (referee) ; Zemčík, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis contains characterization of TiAl alloys, theirs applications and focusing on improving of the turbocharges properties, compared with conventional materials. Furthermore there is also included manufacturing process of TiAl alloys and castings.
Manufacture of Artistic Castings
Janošťák, Jan ; Staňková, Markéta (referee) ; Mikulka, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on types of casting methods, which are or were used for the production of art objects. Chronological cross-section through history of art casting is made at first, which is followed by an analysis of the most common methods and techniques leading to the production of art castings. The following practical part of the bachelor’s thesis concerns itself with the production of a simple art casting. The lost-wax process was used for its fabrication.
Investment casting - defects list
Šmatelka, Jakub ; Staňková, Markéta (referee) ; Mikulka, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with defects which can occurred during investment casting process. In the first part, there is briefly described investment casting process in Alucast s.r.o. company. List of all defects occurring during manufacture is described in the second part. This catalog includes majority of defects from the cast proposal to finishing operations. There are also described causes, consequences and corrective actions.
Application of rapid prototyping technology in the investment casting technology
Čejka, Libor ; Mikulka, Vít (referee) ; Kosour, Vojtěch (advisor)
To accelerate the production of prototype castings, it is necessary to shorten the time required for the production of investment casting, allowing just the Rapid Prototyping technology. This technology is being developed for several decades, but the application of the method of lost wax model is completely normal. Task of the thesis is to develop a literature search possibilities of mapping technology in Rapid Prototyping technology foundry investment casting wax model.
