Possibilities to use the canistherapy for children with special educational needs in the rehabilitation centre for people with disabilities of ARPIDA, o.s.
MEZEROVÁ, Jana
This bachelor thesis is focused on possibilities to use the canistherapy in the centre of ARPIDA, o.s. An aim of the research was to find out an effectiveness of the canistherapy for children with special educational needs in the context of a comprehensive rehabilitation system. To collect data, I chose following methods: a direct participant observation, an uncontrolled interview and a content analysis of the data collection. I led interviews with physiotherapists, a psychologist, a head of the day care centre and with parents of the children from the research sample. The observed sample consisted of four children with special educational needs aged 11, 14, 15 a 21 years. All the children attended the day care centre of ARPIDA, o.s. Children´s case studies, an actual course of the canistherapy including a picture file, expressions of individual experts including an evaluation of the effectiveness of the canistherapy at each child with the special educational needs, are recorded in the practical part of my bachelor thesis. The most effective method at the children with the cerebral palsy is an AAT method in the form of a positioning. The effectiveness of the canisterapy was recorded here mainly in the motor area. The most significant indicator of the effectiveness of the canistherapy at those children was releasing of their spastic muscles. Results of the observation then confirmed positive emotional moods of children during the canistherapy. At a child with ADHD syndrome the AAA method was used, through which it came, during the canistherapy, to an improvement of the ability to concentrate an attention and to an overall pacification. The effectiveness of the canistherapy was evident even in the area of the fine motor and communication abilities of children. I suppose that findings of the thesis can become a guidance and an inspiration for more frequent visits of future canistherapeutic teams, which will decide to work with children in the centre of ARPIDA.

Education of Adults with health disablement
HODOUŠOVÁ, Jana
The subject matter of these bachelor graduation theses is the education of handicapped adults. I have focused the theoretical part on the explanation of some basic concepts such as lifelong learning and study, andragogy, special pedagogy (in the sense of particular types of afflictions and their specifics in relation to education). I have dedicated the applied part of these theses to the description of the target of the theses, the description of research methods, and the description of my results. These are the targets of my research: 1. to learn the further training possibilities for handicapped adults; 2. to learn the evaluation of these further training possibilities by handicapped adults themselves. I have chosen the qualitative type of research, the method of questioning and the technique of the dialogue for the research implementation of my theses. The research took place in non-profit-making organizations which associate handicapped people, or which provide some services for them, in the period from February 2009 to April 2009. For selection of establishments I used the Guidebook Throught Social Services of the City of České Budějovice 2009, this document can be used by handicapped people, if they look for a service. I approached 11 organizations altogether; two of them refused to participate in my research. In research group no 1 there were 35 handicapped people, from 15 to 64 years old. In research group no 2 there were 9 employees of those organizations which provide services for handicapped people in the region of České Budějovice. Research results demonstrate that respondents do not have proper view of further training possibilities for handicapped adults. Most of them were not able to answer my question whether their further training possibilities are sufficient, or not. Other results of my research demonstrate that employees of non-profit-making organizations situated in České Budějovice know about at least one establishment which is engaged in further training of handicapped people. Only one respondent was ignorant. These bachelor graduation theses can be used by educational institutions which offer further training for handicapped people, and by non-profit-making organizations which apply themselves to those people. Furthermore, these theses can be used by The Bureau of Labour in České Budějovice as well.

At the end of the chapter about a present situation of this chosen topic, there is a separate chapter about Ergotherapy. It points out a game, as a first occupation of a child and work therapy that helps individuals with mental disablement to create or improve their own working habits. The aim of this thesis was to introduce new trends in education of people with mental disablement in the area of work therapy. The thesis is focused on an offer of work therapy activities that have been provided by the facilities for people with a physical handicap and the education of work therapists. A qualitative research was used to reach the aim: first a method of questioning and secondly, a technique of semi-structured interviews. The interviews were made with senior executives (mainly the principals) and they were focused on the area of education of work therapists after the validation of Social Service Act No. 108/2006 Sb. Another used method was a method of quantitative research {--} questioning, a technique of questionnaire. The target group was composed of work therapists who are employed in the facilities for people who are physically handicapped. The questionnaires were designed to reveal what is being offered in terms of work therapy within the facilities and what is the determination of a selection of an activity that the client will take part in. It has been revealed that the offer of activities in the facilities is varied and that the client plays the main role in the selection of the activity. The research was conducted in three regions of the Czech Republic: South Bohemia, South Moravia and the Vysočina region.
