This thesis focuses on the design of the backup system for elementary school Humpolec, Hradská 894. Introduction deals with the theoretical knowledge of the subject. The following section analyzes the current status of the backup system, including the information about the network system. The third section contains my own solutions, suitable for this school, based on findings in the analytical part.

There is descripted a complete backup system as well as problems related to the system. There are mentioned suggestions for improvement of actual status to reach the maximum profit of it´s potential to allow to work faster, more transparent and more easily. The work contains as well the theoretical foundations, from which the improvement suggestion of actual status is patterned on.

The thesis also includes practical suggestions to improve the current situation, thus making it more adequate for the needs of contemporary legislation, employees and equipment. The thesis also contains a theoretical basis, employing it to develop solutions to the problems.

This Bachelor thesis focuses on creating centrally managed application, which will be deployed on client’s laptops and workstations of all employees of Danaher Motion s.r.o. company in Brno. Its main purpose is to automatically backup email archives of Microsoft Outlook application represented by PST data files to a network storage equipped by hard drive fault-tolerant system called RAID. The application is created in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition C# environment.

This bachelor thesis highlights the highly neglected importance of company data and their protection. The thesis helps to familiarize with backup process, the basic element of security and efficiency of information systems. There is presentation of results of international studies on topic "Cost of data lost" in the thesis. It also contains describes technology of RAID disk arrays, the topology of LAN networks, DAS, NAS and SAN. The most important part is summary of basic and more advanced backup methods for small and middle-sized entrepreneurs in dependency of their requirement and funds.
