MALČICOVÁ, Jana
This bachelor thesis deals with the perception of dying and death by emergency medical personnel. The theoretical part includes not only issues of dying and death, but also the ethics of pre-hospital emergency care. The activities of emergency medical services and some methods of psychological intervention are also described here in detail. The practical part of this thesis is a qualitative research carried out by semi-structured interview with 8 emergency medical workers. The respondents were selected from the South Bohemian, the Central Bohemian and the South Moravian Region; one respondent is employed by emergency medical services abroad (Austria). The research objective was to determine how the medical personnel of emergency services copes with critical situations such as dying and death of a patient, to what extent they are influenced by their profession and to determine the level of readiness of future emergency medical personnel for this occupation. The purpose of this bachelor thesis was to point out the need for psychological intervention for emergency medical services personnel, which is still insufficient in the Czech Republic.

Intensity of nursing work on the oncological department.
TŮMOVÁ, Lucie
This Bachelor thesis deals with working demands of nurses employed in oncology departments. Because of being in continuous contact with people (patients, their families or colleagues) nurses working in these departments should be empathetic, kind, patient and helpful. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on general characteristics of oncological departments, description of nursing specifics, available oncological treatment, the role of nurses in palliative treatment and issues of burnout syndrom. The theoretical part presents the results of semi-structured interviews conducted with nurses working in oncology departments at "Ceské Budějovice Hospital" and "Na Bulovce Hospital". Based on the dialaogues were the case reports which later became the basis for category tables. The results show that nurses perceive their work as difficult, mostly from the psychological aspect. The oncology nurses have to face terminally ill people, dying and death on a daily basis. They are exposed to risks of cytostatic agents. They may often suffer from tiredness which can lead to disruption of social, physical and psychical wellfare and even to the burnout. Influenced by these factors the nurses often feel stressed and are not often familiar with how this stress can be prevented or tackled. A brochure based on the obtained information has therefore been compiled for nurses with the aim to inform them about these issues.
Burnout syndrom
HOUDKOVÁ, Petra
The thesis is defined by a theoretical and empirical character. Its topic is focused on the term called burnout which affects teacher's profession at the primary school. The first part of the theoretical part is focused on the factors which can cause the beginning of a burnout. The next chapter defines the whole term burnout. The following part deals with the sources of the burnout. This chapter is closely related to the following chapter which is focused on the burnout expression. The particular phases of the burnout process are described in the following chapter. The attention is paid also to the teacher's work and the stress in this kind of profession. The last but one chapter introduces the consequences of the burnout and their influence on the teacher's work. The last part of the theoretical part describes the principles of the psychic hygiene and the tips on coping with stress. The practical part was realized by the help of a questionnaire. The received data serve to the comparison of the appearance of the burnout expressions between the lower primary school teachers and the upper primary school teachers and also to the comparison of these expressions between the primary school teachers and the practical primary school teachers.
The Workload of High School Teachers
TLAMSOVÁ, Alena
The main aim of my bachelor thesis was to characterize parts of the secondary school teacher´s workload and to analyse the workload of teachers at selected secondary schools. The workload can be described as a dissonance between requirements for the teacher and his or her skills and possibilities. The workload is generally divided into the physical and the mental workload. The first part of bachelor thesis deals with basic characteristics of a teacher, a profession of a teacher, a workload and its parts. The second part of bachelor thesis describes the chosen secondary schools and analyses the workload of the teachers from several points of view (e. g. type of workload, school, gender and duration of doing this profession). The analysis provides information about higher rate of the workload of the grammar school´s teachers, women, and teachers who do this profession more than fifteen years. It also informs that the physical load is harder. All the respondents try to prevent themselves from the workload by means of ac-tive and healthy life style and also by active and passive relaxation.

Prevention of Health Disorders of Nursing Staff Caused by Physically Demanding Work in Two In-patient Departments of Follow-up Medical Care, Clinic A (DFMC-A), Hospital in České Budějovice
PAVLOVÁ, Martina
Nursing staff in the departments of follow-up medical care is exposed to an extremely high mental pressure and physical burden. Permanent unavoidable handling immobile clients make nurses walk 11.5 kilometres and spend 96 minutes standing forward bend every day (10) which can mostly lead to health injuries, especially disorders of locomotive organs. Frequent contacts with elderly, unbalanced or agressive clients and taking care of dying people affect mental well-being od nursing staff. That all can cause stress, anxiety, exhaustion or even burnout. The aim of this work has been to find out the most common health disorders of DFMC-A nursing staff and their knowledge of the prevention of health disorders caused by physically demanding work. In addition, technical aids which help nurses handle the clients were monitored. Finally I have suggested preventive measures to prevent nurses´ health disorders caused by their physically demanding work. . I used one of the quantitative research methods, the questionnaire. It was given to nursing staff of three departments, two DFMC-A,B, neurological and urological departments of the hospital in České Budějovice. The research resulted into the following hypotheses. Hypothesis 1 assuming that ``nursing staff is not prevented sufficiently from health disorders caused by physically demanding work`` was proved. Hypothesis 2 that ``ageing process increases the health disorders`` was not proved. Hypothesis 3 that ``health disorders are also caused by shortage of the staff `` was proved. Hypothesis 4 that ``nursing staff are informed enough to prevent health disorders caused by their physically demanding work`` was proved. The findings of my work can be presented to the heads or deputies of the hospital departments. They are to be persuaded about necessary changes in unsufficient number of nurses and a small range of technical aids in the departments. That can improve both work conditions of nurses and clients´ care in our republic.
