Title: Case Study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of Low back pain. Author: Klára Flasarová Aim: Summary of theoretical findings, the study methodology, physiotherapy care, treatment design and monitoring of the patient with the diagnosis of Low back pain. Methods: This study was a retrieval of a case study in professional practice, held from January 23, 2012 to February 19, 2012 at the Oblastní nemocnice Kladno. The work is divided into two parts - general and special. The first (general) part deals with the theoretical knowledge of the axial system in terms of anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology, includes information about possibilities of physiotherapy practice and testing at a time when surgery is not indicated and conservative treatment is possible. Second (special) case report describes part of physiotherapy treatment of patients with Low back pain and proposes course of therapy and evaluated its effects. Therapy were starting during the hospitalization tha patient on the neurogical department. The next therapy and final examination were done after the patient's discharge to homecare. Results: Patient's clinical condition significantly differed before treatment and after therapy. The main indicator for us was the level of pain, which in the course of therapy varied...
Transfer vibration through spine
Benyovszky, Adam ; Jelen, Karel (advisor) ; Lopot, František (referee)
Transfer Vibration through Spine Abstract In the bachelor project we deal with the topic of Transfer Vibration through Spine. The problem of TVS is trying to be solved by the critical review method. We analyse some diagnostic methods and methods of treatment based on this principle. Close attention is paid to the method of Transfer Vibration through Spine that is being currently solved by The Research Institute of Thermomechanics in The Czech Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. In the text are also searched mathematical description and biomechanical qualities of spine system that are related to these mentioned methods. The project is also used as a theoretical base for future experimental part of the research. Keywords: mechanical wave, intervertebral disc, spine, Transfer Vibration through Spine, connective tissue.

Hippotherapy impact on patients after spine injuries
Vaisová, Martina ; Doležalová, Jana (advisor) ; Neumann, Cyril (referee)
The aim of this study was to write the most comprehensive and also current literature review on the effect of hippotherapy on to patiens after spine injuries. The first part is devoted to the anatomy of the human spine. Spine creates the axis of the trunk skeleton and consists of 33 vertebrae. All vertebrae have the same shape and size. They differ according to which part of the spine they are located and how much mobility occurs in this particular segment of the spine. The vertebrae are divided in cervical, which are the most mobile, thoracic, lumbar, cross and coccyx, which grow together in the sacrum. Spinal cord is the cylinder of nerve tissue contained in the spinal canal. The nerve tissue is comprised of gray and white matter. 31 pairs of spinal nerves arising from combining the front and rear roots come out of the spinal cord. Spinal cord transmits information from the brain to the body. Subsequently, the study deals with the causes of spinal injuries. We can say that most injuries occurs in traffic accidents or from falls from height. After a spine injury a spinal cord and conducting nerve impulses are not necessarily damaged . However, after spinal cord injury conduction of nerve impulses is breached and spinal lesion arises. If no improvement appears within 24 hours after trauma, patient's condition is unchanging and interrupted conduction is permanent. If there is no break spinal cord, rehabilitation is carried out mainly by strengthening the spinal column. In the case of spinal cord transection we use rehabilition mainly to improve preserved functions. Hippotherapy is a method that can be used after a spine or spinal cord injury. It is a method in which the therapist uses the horse's back as an aid for rehabilitation. The horse's back moves in three directions at step: forward, backward, upward, downward and sideways. These movements are transmitted to the client, for which give rise to facilitation of brain function, and we use it in hippotherapy.
Advanced Algorithms for 3D Medical Image Data Fusion in Specific Medical Problems
Romana Petera.
Stress-strain Analysis of Chosen Spinal Fixation Device
Prášilová, Eva ; Valášek, Jiří (referee) ; Marcián, Petr (advisor)
The degenerative and traumatic injuries of a spine are very frequent. In those cases it is necessary to stabilize the corresponding spine segment using a spine implant. The spinal implants are rigid or flexible, the latter known as dynamic ones in medical practice. In this thesis, the problems of the physiological spinal segment and the segment with implant were solved using the computational modelling (finite element method). Computational model consists of 4 lumbar vertebrae L2 – L5, intervertebral discs, joints and spinal implants. The spinal segment was loaded by the force 400N and 200N, than by force 200N together with bending moments 2,5Nm and 5Nm depending of the motion. The displacement of the whole system, contact pressure of cartilages, equivalent strain in cancellous bone and equivalent stress in the implant were analyzed. The deformation of the physiological model and the model with the implant are comparable, but the bone tissue of the model with the implant is dramatically more loaded in vicinity of the screws.
