Změna barvy povrchu modifikovaného dubového dřeva působením umělého slunečního záření
Rozboril, Tadeáš
This bachelor thesis conducted as an experiment is concerned by the color change of modified oak wood surface affected by artificial sun light. Part of the thesis is also focused on influence of chosen modification to the color change of oak wood surface. Samples of oak wood for experiment were modified by ammonia and by iron nanoparticles. Both modifications darken the surface of samples. Color change by the artificial sun light was measured on modified oak samples, also on subfossil and natural oak wood. The dry regime caused darkening of untreated oak, and whitening of all other samples. The wet regime caused whitening of all samples, however smallest color change was measured on samples modified by nano-iron.

Použití UV záření ve vinařství
Lutzký, Filip
The bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of ultraviolet radiation usage in wine making process. In the theoretical part the UV radiation is sorted into individual types and then the impact on microorganisms, which occur in wine growing most often, is monitored. Further the possibility of UV radiation usage for different kinds of preservation is described. In the practical part an experiment is made -- must of 3 sorts is treated with UV radiation and the influencing of the basic analytical parameters is then monitored: YAN, pH, sugar content, tartaric acid, malic acid and titratable acids. Then followed the sensory evaluation and evaluation of aromatic profile of these must sorts in comparison with other kinds of preservation.
Has UV radiation an impact on tadpoles' movement activity?
KLAPKA, Vladimír
The increasing level of the UV-B irradiation due to depleting of the ozone layer is considered to be one of the causes of global amphibian declines. The UV-B radiation causes damage to the DNA in the nuclei of the skin cells and their eventual death. In many amphibian species there was found a negative influence of the UV-B radiation on the hatching success of tadpoles and their subsequent viability. It has been assumed that tadpoles are able to actively avoid places with the higher exposure of the UV-B radiation thanks to their locomotion. In this experiment tadpoles could have chosen between a zone with the UV radiation (UV-B and UV-A) and without the UV radiation. The tadpoles have not been exposed to the UV radiation before the measurement started. The location of the tadpoles during the measurement was recorded by CCD camera. A computer program EthoVision then evaluated the time that these tadpoles spent in each of the zones and the total path length these tadpoles has swum in the zones. The measurements were performed for two groups of tadpoles differing in age to determine whether the level of development may affect the tadpoles' preference to the UV radiation. The tadpoles in both groups spent more time in the zone without the UV radiation. The tadpoles in the more advanced development phase have spent 7 times more time in average in the zone without the UV radiation than in the zone with it. The tadpoles from the second group have spent in average 2.5 times more time in the zone without the UV radiation than in the zone with the UV radiation. The total swimming path length of advanced tadpoles was almost 2.5 times longer in the zone without the UV radiation than in the zone with the UV radiation. Conversely, the total path length of younger tadpoles did not significantly differ between the zones. The total time spent in the zones with / without the UV radiation did not differ between the groups of tadpoles. Also the total path length did not differ between the groups in the zone with the UV-B radiation. However, the total path length of tadpoles had differed between groups in the zone without the UV radiation.
Stanovení světlostálosti různých druhů nátěrových systémů aplikovaných na vybrané druhy tropických dřev
Fricová, Michaela
This master thesis deals with the application of various types of surface treatments on selected tropical wood species and the subsequent change of colour due to the effect of natural and simulated UV radiation. Measurements were performed on the following three species: zebrano (Microberlinia brazzavillensis), panga panga (Millettia Stuhlmannii) and african padouk (Pterocarpus soyauxii). As surface treatment were used water-based, polyurethane, oil and solvent-based paint. Samples were exposed to simulated UV radiation. The total duration of radiation was 168 hours. After that the colour changes delta E* were measured by using a spectrophotometer. The aim was to compare the different paints used on all woods and their colour change. The thesis also includes research of light permanency of coating exposed to natural UV radiation.
The role of radiotherapy in the treatment of skin cancer
HOLEČKOVÁ, Ivana
Tumour diseases constitute one of the main causes of death in advanced countries. If diagnosed in time, the disease can be cured in approximately 45 % cases. Common curative methods of treating skin tumours include surgical, radiotherapeutic, chemotherapeutic or biological treatment or their combination. The subject of my thesis is the role of radiotherapy in treatment of skin tumours. I have compared the results of radiotherapeutic treatment in the period from 1981 to 1985 and from 2001 to 2005 in the oncology ward of Nemocnice České Budějovice, and also examined the count of radiated patients in comparison with the number of all reported skin tumours. On the basis of these statistical data we obtain a certain idea of the rate of use of both the above stated methods in treatment of carcinoma. The first part of my thesis is theoretical and provides a historical survey of tumour diseases, based on study of technical literature. Following the survey, I address radiotherapy in general and attend to skin anatomy; a special chapter is focused on skin cancer and its symptoms. The theoretical part describes curative methods of skin tumours. With regard to the topic of the thesis I pay larger attention to selection of a radiation source and to general planning of radiotherapeutic treatment. This part of the thesis includes a description of radiation side effects and a section discussing prevention of tumour diseases. In the practical part I compare the results of radiotherapeutic treatment of patients treated in two five-year intervals in the space of 16 years. Based on the comparison of the total number of reported oncologic diseases and the number of patients treated with radiotherapy, I arrive at the conclusion that priority is given to surgical methods rather than to radiotherapeutic ones. The reasons are obvious {--} availability of radiotherapy only in most of large centres, time {--} consumption connected with a larger number of sessions, and mental discomfort for the patient.
Retardation inflammatory of the process epidermis by the help of application complex revitalization of the process.
ŠPINDLEROVÁ, Martina
My bachelor theses studies the slowing down process of the skin inflammation through application of complex revitalisation procedure. My theses mainly focuses on inflammation process caused by UV rays. My theses examines the influence of this revitalisation process on the skin regeneration and slowing down of the inflammation. In my experimental study 70 persons were being examined during six months. The revitalisation programme focused on the skin revitalisation , the changes in behaviour and attitudes towards the sun tan.All the data were statiscially processed and evaluated. The aim of my theses was to show how dangerous is a big amount of exposition to UV rays which has a negative influence on our health and to a large extent causes the skin cancer diseases.
Possibilities of use technical disinfection of water in fish farming

Disinfection of water in fish farming is becoming increasingly important. For these measures, there are different ways of water treatment. The aim was to evaluate selected water treatment facilities in terms of economic performance. This work compares UV sterilizers and ozonizers on the basis of their technical parameters and market prices.
Prevention of malignant melanoma of derm
ŠŤASTNOVÁ, Lenka
The occurrence of malignant melanoma is rising. This thesis deals with malignant melanoma and its prevention. The quantitative analysis is based on a questionnaire survey. The purpose of this thesis was to detect the differences in the malignant melanoma prevention approach of the medical personnel and the ``ordinary{\crqq} people, and to detect the differences in approach of the people without personal experience with malignant melanoma and the patients with this experience. All the hypotheses were proved. The medical personnel focus more on the prevention than the ``ordinary{\crqq} people (H1). The ``ordinary{\crqq} people sunbathe excessively (H2). Patients are more protective than ``ordinary{\crqq} people (H3). Patients avoid the sunbathing and sunburn (H4). People with personal experience with malignant melanoma visit regularly a dermatologist (H5). Conclusions demonstrate that the approach to the malignant melanoma prevention is influenced by the medical personnel qualification and the patients{\crq} personal experience. Nurses informed only 2 % of the ``ordinary{\crqq} people and 4 % of the patients. It is important to promote the prevention and to raise the importance of nurses.
