The education conduces to the acquirement of new items of information, the improvement of proficiency. In the bachelor work quantitative and qualitative methods of the data collection through the use of an interrogation technique by question forms presented to hospital nurses working with COPD patients, as well as the qualitative interrogation data collection technique by means of a semistructured discussion were used. The research interrogations were carried out in the Hospital Písek, AG and in the Hospital České Budějovice, AG. The quantitative research interrogations were carried out in the Hospital Písek, AG and in the Hospital České Budějovice, AG. In the interrogations participated 100 hospital nurses working in the standard internal medical departments and the pneumology department. For the qualitative research interrogation 5 COPD patients were selected. The discussions were conducted in the pneumology department. In the bachelor work one aim was determined. The aim of the work was to investigate the task of a hospital nurse in providing a nursing care by COPD patients. In the work 2 hypothesis were determined. 1. The most common role of the hospital nurse is the provider of a nursing care. 2. The role of an educator nurse is more frequent than the role of an advocate nurse. Both hypothesis were confirmed. Further, 2 research questions were determined. What is the most common role of a hospital nurse by COPD patients? Has the role of an educator a practical efficiency by the COPD patients? The both research questions were answered. The aim of the bachelor work was thus accomplished. The bachelor work could be used by seminars in pneumology departments or internal medical departments. The work can also serve as the efficiency assessment of activities practised by the COPD patients and for the remedy of their imperfections.

The Role of the Nurse as a Financial Adviser of Senior
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Jaroslava
Finances enter all spheres of our lives and existence. They affect even the area so humane as healthcare. This bachelor thesis has shown that if a senior person decides to spend the old age in a social facility (specifically in the Senior Home Blatná), he/she will be sufficiently informed by the personnel about his/her financial situation. It was further found out that general nurses approach changes in the healthcare sector responsibly, they discuss options and impacts of the changes and they are able to embrace the changes even within a limited time. General nurses should follow the media andcontinually educate themselves so that they can, in a qualified and self-confident manner, respond to questions arising from the changes in the system of social and healthcare services.
The influence of stress in dialyzed patients of the level and role the nurse in this issue
JANOUŠKOVÁ, Jaroslava
Stress and stressful situations influence us throughout our whole lives. Great and longterm stress can cause many health complications. Dialysis alone is a great stress in dialyzed patients. To every day stress causing agents a number of restrictions is added in connection with dialysis. Especially the change of lifestyle has an impact on private life and the life of the whole family. Dialyzed patients suffer from an increased level of stress permanently. The nurse plays in important role in these situations as she gets in close contact with the patient. She can by means of communication and her attitude influence the process of treatment and the quality of the patient's life. The main goal of the research survey was to determine the influence of stress in dialyzed patients, what role the nurse plays in this issue, the importance of her attitude to dialyzed patients and whether the stress has also an impact on nurses. Qualitative research method was applied. Non-standardized interview with randomly chosen patients and nurses from the same hemodialysis center. The interviews were prepared in case reports. The research has shown that dialysis is a stress for patients and it influences to a certain degree their private lives as it has become an indispensable part of their lives for a long time. The quality of life of dialyzed patients is influenced not only by the process of treatment but also the family background and the attitude of nurses. A nurse is considered by most patients indispensable. The nurses are, according to patients, compliant, emphatic and sensitive. The research has further shown that nurses working with these patients are also influenced by their stress. Patients tend to pass their problems they do not what to deal with on their own on nurses and they expect help, which is an enormous stress on nurses as they realize dialysis is for these patients a lifelong issue. In order to provide quality care for dialyzed patients, it is necessary nurses stay emotionally uninvolved and still maintain a good feeling from a well done work. A self-possessed nurse can help a patient more that a workplace with top equipment and the best experts.
Education the parents of children with malabsorption syndrome
ADAMOVÁ, Erika
Celiac disease, which is the most frequent cause of the malabsorption syndrome in children, is a common term for a worldwide occurring disease affecting both children and adults. It is a chronic disease characterized by a permanent gluten intolerance, malabsorption in consequence of typical inflammatory changes of the small intestine mucosa, and clinical improvement when a gluten-free diet is followed. The only casual treatment is a permanent and strict gluten-free diet. The objective of this thesis was to survey the knowledge of parents of children with the malabsorption syndrome. The other objective was to describe the role of a nurse in education of parents of children with the malabsorption syndrome. Two hypotheses were stated, one of them was confirmed, the other was rejected. One part of the thesis is formed by two research investigations aimed at finding the awareness of parents of children with celiac disease and also to assess how the knowledge and application of principles of an educational system have been implemented by nurses who take care of children with celiac disease and their parents. The survey was carried out by a quantitative research method. The data were collected by the anonymous questionnaire technique. The research set was comprised of parents of children with celiac disease and nurses working in paediatric and gastroenterology clinics. In the thesis two hypotheses had been set up, one of which was confirmed, the other was rejected. The first hypothesis assumed that parents of children with the malabsorption syndrome were informed about the nature of the disease and the need to follow a gluten-free diet. The results have shown that parents are sufficiently informed in these points, and therefore the hypothesis was confirmed. The other hypothesis assumed that nurses apply the principles of an educational process while providing information. But the research has shown that the vast majority of nurses do not know those principles and that is why they do not use them in practice. The hypothesis was not confirmed in this case.Enhancement through the use of educational principles in practice is recommended to improve the present care for children with a celiac disease and their parents. Nurses´ proficiency should be constantly boosted and deepened. The outcomes of this thesis can be presented at professional seminars and workshops in order to contribute to the improvement of this condition.
The role of the nurse in providing care to patients with short bowel syndrome
BUNDOVÁ, Jana
Short Bowel syndrome characteristically belongs whithin a groop of recognizable symptoms which result from the loss of small intestine or damaged absorption. Because of the advancement of complex medication and intravenous feeding, home patient care is continously increasing. In the year 2008 intravenous feeding was used upon 57 adult patients in 15 health centres. These patients are vulnerable to the full range of complications. Among the most freekvent complications are infections of the location where the needle is injected. The role of the nurse towards the patient is irreplaceable due to the importance of the care resting upon the nurse to ensure no infection can originate. This research deals with the difficulty of the nurse´s role assigned care of the patient with Short Bowel syndrome. The goal of this project is to map out the level of information and experiences which nurses have regarding the care of those patients whit this afliction. A further goal is to discover how careful the patients are regarding the use and care of intravenous catheter to keep infection away. From the analysis obtained, the majority of the nurses have enough informations conserning the care of patients with Short bowel syndrome. These nurses consider the care of these patients to be every bit as demanding as the care required for patients with other condicions. Nurses are now capable of taking control of this care. This viewpoint is supported by even patients who have this condition who have had faverable experiences. Patients are now well enough informed to be able to indepenndently administer intravenuous injections in ther own home envirement, but always in the copany of family members or a home care assistent
The role of the nurse by patient with Holter transmitted home
ČEČKOVÁ, Monika
Diseases of the cardiovascular system rank among the most frequent causes of death. This thesis called ``The role of the nurse taking care of patients with the Holter monitor when they are discharged home`` deals with this non-invasive examination of the cardiovascular system. Timely diagnostics is of high importance to show a number of diseases. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with diseases of the cardiovascular system. The diseases mentioned include: the syncope, arrhythmia, ischemic heart disease and hypertension. Further, it deals with the non-invasive examination by means of the Holter monitor, which is connected with the diseases mentioned before. This is followed by informing the patient in connection with this examination, communication skills of the medical staff with the patient and the education in this non-invasive examination. The practical part of the thesis lays down three objectives. The first objective was to find out whether patients with the Holter monitor, when being discharged home, have sufficient information on this examination. The second objective focused on nurses, and finding out the way nurses view their role as the educator of the patients with the Holter monitor. The third objective was to find out whether patients were afraid of this examination. Next, three hypotheses were set up. The first hypothesis supposed that nurses working in outpatient and inpatient cardiac care facilities had enough information on the electrocardiograph monitoring and blood pressure by means of the Holter monitor. The second hypothesis supposed patients with the Holter monitor, when being discharged home had sufficient information on this examination. The third hypothesis supposed that nurses educated patients with the Holter monitor on discharging them home. All objectives were fulfilled and hypotheses confirmed. To fulfil the objectives and confirm the hypotheses, I used the quantitative method. To collect data I used a questionnaire for patients and another one for nurses. The research set consisted of nurses working in selected outpatient facilities of the Kardiologie Medipont s.r.o. and Kardioecho s.r.o. in České Budějovice and in selected inpatient cardiac care facilities. Further, a questionnaire investigation with patients with the Holter monitor from the same health care facilities as the nurses. 80 questionnaires were handed out to patients and 80 questionnaires to the nurses. 53 questionnaires were given back by the patients and 39 questionnaires by the nurses. This thesis could acquaint the public and medical staffs with the prevention and symptoms of cardiovascular diseases, thus attracting their attention to the importance of timely diagnostics and treatment. Further, it could be of beneficial to inform the health care facilities the survey was conducted in, with the results. Nurses have a lot of roles during their work. Their role as the educator, which undoubtedly ranks among them, is essential in the diagnostics by the Holter monitor.
The role of the nurse providing therapeutic care for the patient embarking on a hemodialysis program, being on the kidney transplant waiting list.
ROUBALOVÁ, Gabriela
Abstract In the bachelor thesis we are dealing with the question ,,A role of the nurse in care of the hemodialysed patient waiting for kidney transplantation.`` In the theoretical part we have been dealing especially with the role of the nurse, nursing care of the hemodialysed patient waiting for kidney transplantation and also with the educational activities of the nurses. The goal of the research was to determine the role of the nurse from the patient{\crq}s viewpoint, the next goal was to determine how well are the patients informed about the hemodialysis program and the regime measures resulting from it and furthermore what roles result for the nurse from the nursing care of patients within the hemodialysis program. A method of a quantitative research with the use of anonymous questionnaires has been used for determination of the set goals and for verification of the preset hypotheses. The research set was formed of nurses working in the medical department and the hemodialysis department of the Hospital in České Budějovice, a.s., as well as of patients from the department where the research was conducted. A total of 50 questionnaires were distributed to nurses and 50 questionnaires to patients. The return rate was 62% for nurses and 70% for patients. Three hypotheses were preset within the research. In the first hypothesis we have assumed that the patients percieve the role of the nurse as an indispensable part of the nursing care. The first hypothesis has been confirmed. In the second hypothesis we have assumed that the patients in the hemodialysis program have enough information regarding the regime measures resulting from the problems of hemodialysis and kidney transplantation. The second hypothesis has been confirmed. In the third hypothesis we have assumed that the nurses within the nursing process by patients in the hemodialysis program represent a role of an educator for the most part. The third hypothesis has been confirmed as well. The results of the conducted research may lead to an improved awareness of the patients about the hemodialysis program and the regime measures resulting from it and also could be utilized as a feeback for nurses working with the hemodialysis patients. The nurses should be more and more actively interested in patient`s feelings. Furthermore they should have better supervision of patients` observance of the regime measures, although especially the patients should be responsible for their own health, because the regime measures play an indispensable role in the therapy process during the malfunction of kidneys. Furthermore it is important that the nurses actively offer help to patients who need it and try to ensure a quality nursing care, while the greatest reward for the nurse should be the patient{\crq}s satisfaction. It would be convenient to inform the head as well as stationary nurses about the results of the conducted research who would subsequently hand over this information to other nurses who work with the hemodialysed patients. Moreover this work may serve as a material for students who will be interested in these problems. Furthermore this work could lead to extension of educational activities of students regarding the problems of hemodialysed patients.
Nurses´opinion on regulation fees in public health care in connection with nursing care provided
SALOTOVÁ, Jana
This bachelor work is focused on regulation fees in public health care that sere introduced in the Czech Republic on 1/1/2008. The issue of regulation fees in public health care is a very delicate and discussed topic at present, still filling front pages of newspapers, magazines and television programs after almost a year. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part lists the principles when the regulation fee is and is not to be paid. We mention also the protective limit and the office job related to collection of regulation fees. We describe the situation abroad to give an idea how regulation fees work in neighbouring states. The practical part of this work had three goals. The first goal was to find out how nurses perceive the introduction of regulation fees in public health care. The second goal was to find out whether the regulation fees affect the nursing care provided, and the third goal of our research was to find out what nurses consider the most problem-loaded area within the regulation fees. Those goals were met. Research questions were set on the base of the goals. How nurses perceive regulation fees in public health care, what they would like to change in the collection of regulation fees, what the provided nursing care should look like from the nurses{\crq} point of view and what they consider the most problem-loaded area within the regulation fees. The research questions were answered. Qualitative investigation, questioning method were used to process the bachelor work. The data collection was implemented in the technique of non-standardized structured interview. Our inquiry took place in the Nemocnice České Budějovice a.s. and the Nemocnice Strakonice a.s. hospitals. The nurses{\crq} answers were processed into twenty pieces of casuistic. The investigation took place in February 2009. The results of our bachelor work could serve as feedback for the hospitals where the investigation was implemented. Subsequently they could contribute to create a united form for collection of regulation fees, both from the point of view of payment and of office work. Further the results could serve to support cooperation between the patient and the health care staff. I would also suggest training events for health care staff so that they are able to master problem-loaded situations. For example how to approach a patient who refuses to pay the regulation fee. I would suggest regular training events also for ward sisters and head nurses in the area of legislation of regulation fees.
