Mining in developing countries are located in rural areas where agriculture is the main source of livelihood. Mining communities in Ghana's mineral-rich regions engage in food crop production. These regions are actually leading the production of cash crops like cocoa, oil palm and citrus. They also produce in large quantities food staples like plantain, maize, cocoyam, legumes and an assortment of vegetables. The paradox, however, these areas have seen unprecedented boom in activities of ASM. This gives potential negative spillovers to individuals who are involved in farming through environmental pollution and competition for key inputs (like, land, water, and labor). To exam this situation, we employed the impact of gold mining on staple food crop production in Ghana. We estimated the yield of agricultural productivity for major crop in a selected areas where ASM is intensive using both quantitative data analysis and qualitative systemic literature reviewed. It suggests that a 1% increase in ASM production might reduce agricultural production in Ghana. This may be as a result of pollution from mines and agricultural land used by mines. Gold price and mining price have a positive relationship with agricultural production, statistically significant at 0.01 levels. Furthermore, we find that the mining activity is associated with food insecurity (food pollution) and poverty reduction. A simple cost-benefit analysis shows that, the actual fiscal contributions of mines in Ghana wouldn't have been enough to compensate the affected populations considering the hug negative effect mining from ASM.

Změny v rozsahu a struktuře rostlinné výroby v ČR po vstupu do EU

The aim is to identify and analyze general trends in the extent and structure of plant production in the Czech Republic after joining the EU, including regional differences. Theoretical basis were defined within using in the literature review. Main groups of factors, which shape the agrarian sector size and crop production structure, are identified on the basis of this review. Within the analysis of the years 1993 - 2013 of the selected plant commodities, European Union, Member States and the world were analyzed. Czech Republic and its regions were analyzed within the analysis of the years 1993 - 2013 of the selected plant commodities. Analyses are conducted on selected plant commodities are wheat, barley, corn, rape, potatoes and sugar beets.

Změny venkovské obce na jižní Moravě po roce 1990: případ Lanžhota

This bachelor thesis deals with changes in the small town since 1990. Town Lanzhot has been chosen for the subject of the thesis. It is located at the southernmost spot of the Czech Republic on the border with Slovakia. Basic terms and review of the literature concerning rural changes after 1990 are mentioned in the first part of the thesis. The census data are used in the second part, where the town from the view of demographic, economic and social is described. In the third part the changes in the town that have occurred after 1990 are discussed. The findings in an agribusiness are evaluated in the last part of this thesis. It was stated that the overall development of the comparably sized municipalities in a particular region primarily affected by the human potential.

The aim of this thesis is characterize fundamental trends in agriculture in region Jizni Morava. Analyzes the developement of crop and livestock production focusing on selected agricultural commodities, compares with another regions in Czech republic and shows a survey of selected enterprises surveyed region. The thesis shows and assess the situation before the Czech republic joined the European union in 2004 and the subsequent changes that occured after the introduction of the EU Common Agricultural Policy.

To the basics of professional literature, next literary and Internet sources and documents in archives was characterized importance and development of our agriculture. Shorter part of text is devoted to the agriculture in Europe area and present area of Czech Republic, but the biggest attention of thesis is devoted to the Znojemsko region. Information are ordered in chronologically way from the oldest to the current time. The look on agriculture is kept as important historical and economical phenomenon. My thesis deals with the development of agriculture including technological progress and relationship between agriculture and social development. Last parth of thesis deals with yield per hectar of main crops in Znojemsko region. Due to soil and climate conditions of this region are good crops particularly in corn. On the other side for rye is critical factor of risk dry climate there.

Vývojové tendence a ekonomická diferenciace v masozpracujícím průmyslu v zemích EU

This thesis presents development tendencies and economic differentiation in meat processing industry in the European Union. Using the theoretical approach characterized the basic stages of development of agriculture and agribusiness development in the context of globalization in the agrarian sector. These foundations have better outline for the food verticals, subsequent stages of processing and distribution of food. Another theoretical starting point of this work is the creation of the Common Agricultural Policy, along with its reforms. The aim of the document is subsequently characterize and analyze developments in world agribusiness and meat processing industry of EU Member States. Within this framework characterize the development of commodity chain of meat in the country and analyze their interactions with the environment on the EU single market.

Využití zemědělského půdního fondu v katastrálním území Sudkov

Bachelor thesis is focused on the use of agricultural land resources in the selected cadastral area. My bachelor thesis devoted to analysis of the historical development of agricultural land. I concentrated on the period of time beginning in 1958 and ending with the present. The thesis is divided into two larger units. In the first part of thesis is processed characteristics land and land resources and the development of Czech agriculture. The second part is devoted to the cadastral territory Sudkov. We find here the characteristics of the selected area and the historical development of specific plots in the cadastral Sudkov. Ownership of land development is described from the land books to the actual cadastral register. The main purpose of this thesis is analyse the development assessment and utilization of land resources in the cadastral area Sudkov.

Thesis deals with the sale and consuption of local agricultural products in Brno and its surroundings. At the beginning of this thesis the globalization, localization and their influence on society is briefly described. This thesis also describes the options of sale of local products. I focused on the stone shop, mainly concentraded on their propaganda. This thesis is also focused on the customers, when by using questionnaires I've been investigated the structure of the customers in the food market. I collected the informations about the stores through the personal interviews with the owners of store or through my personal experiences and the Internet.

Podnikání v agrobyznysu v zázemí velkého města: případová studie Kuřimsko

The aim of this thesis consists in an evaluation of agribusiness in the microregion and in identification of problems in agribusinesses issues that some of the chosen companies operating in the agrarian sector may face. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part defines basic concepts. The second part focuses directly on the microregion itself and further describes individual municipalities (Chudčice, Moravské Knínice, Veverská Bítýška and Kuřim). The last part involves analysis of the chosen companies. The sociological methods were used to ask questions regarding their current business situation. Individual representatives had expressed that the situation is gradually becoming more serious because of the continuous decrease in the agricultural land due to the conquest of the land. Another difficulty that the farmers face is the government granting; the farmers are not able swiftly to adapt to the constant changes.

The diploma thesis is focused on proposal corrison protection on machines for application of fertilizers in agriculture. The theoretical part describes the distribution of machines for fertilizer application, issue and species of corrosion. The next section discusses the electrochemical corrosion, its principles and distribution. The final section is an experiment that has analyzed the possibility of using five kinds of corrosion protection evaluation of corrosion tests in laboratory.
