Onymic and Dialect Area: Parallelism or Identity

A space projection of the dialect material of proper and non-proper names makes it possible that relations between both planes of the lexicon are more deeply understood, i.e. between the plane of proper names and that of non-proper names (i.e. appellatives). A dialect border is a transition formed on the basis of differences in non-proper names, as the Czech Linguistic Atlas shows. If such a transition is represented by a bundle of isoglosses separating linguistic phenomena of various language planes, we are dealing with a higher-order border. Such a border can also be useful for the interpretation of phenomena in proper names, e.g. from the area of toponymy (in particular, anoikonymy), as the work on Dictionary of Moravian and Silesian Anoikonyms indicates.

Urbanonyms in the city of Týn nad Vltavou

The theme of this bachelor thesis are urbanonyms (the names of the streets) in town Týn nad Vltavou. The subject this thesis is a list of street's names in the historic centre of the town, names of the adjacent streets, names of the new parts of this town and names of the street in this parts of the town. This names are sorted in terms of sociolinguistic and word-forming. The attention is paid to the names of the street, which is called in honour of some important person, event or place. A part of this thesis is an index of street's names. The aim of this thesis is contribute to onomastics the town Týn nad Vltavou.

To the general issues of onomastics

This Bachelor thesis follows the general questions of the linguistic discipline - onomastics. The thesis includes a theoretical part dealing with the characteristics and history of science and describes the functioning of proper names. It is also focused on the internal structure of discipline and provides information on particular subdisciplines. The empirical part is devided into two chapters - the names in the České Budějovice and analysis of personal name. The first chapter represents the development, meaning areas and motivation of nomenclature of České Budějovice. I subsequently make the analysis of some selected names closely related to the city. The second part is an analysis consists of the anthroponyma ?Kristýna Zouzalová?.

Urbanonyms in the city of Mnichovo Hradiště

This diploma thesis deals with urbanonyms (place-names) in town Mnichovo Hadiště. Our task is a list of names of streetsin the historic heart of town, names of adjacent streets and streets of the newerneighborhoods. We follow the evolution of naming streets after the first third of the 20th century to the present. Street names sorted in terms of sociolinguistic. Particularattention is given to the honores theme and its variations during the historicaldevelopment. The work is supplemented by alphabetical index of street names. The aim of this work is to contribute to onomastika (own naming names) in town Mnichovo Hradiště.
