Biblical Themes in the Legend of the Centuries by Victor Hugo
JELENOVÁ, Lenka
This diploma thesis deals with the role of biblical themes in the collection of poems The Legend of the Centuries by Victor Hugo. First chapter pursues selected aspects of the collection (humanistic values, conception of history, character and time aspects). The aim of the second chapter is to put the collection into the literary context of the concerned period (romantism, symbolism) and into the context of the author's philosophical and religious ideas. This part considers the relation among the collection, the myth and the psychoanalysis. Focus of the thesis lies in the third part that analyzes selected poems of the collection. These are classified according to the role of biblical aspects. The first type of Hugo's application of the biblical elements is represented by an opening poem of the collection "La Vision d'ou est sorti ce livre", which refers to the biblical stories, characters and themes via different poetic techniques. The second group of poems represents a direct updating of the biblical stories. The last type unifies the author's convictions with the biblical elements and recreates the so-called biblical poems. The aim of the thesis is to research this new type of myths that Victor Hugo creates throughout the biblical themes.

Pragmatism and humanism in nursing
HAUSEROVÁ, Ester
?Pragmatism and Humanism in Nursing?; it is the key subject of this thesis. It is trying to analyse both philosophical trends reflecting current situation of nursing. The academic part deals with philosophy such as humanism and pragmatism, followed by phenomenology and ethics. The following part refers to assisting careers, nursing, its history and philosophy, and the nursing rights. The final issue of this academic part is dedicated to the nurse chores, difficult tasks, burnout syndrome and hygiene of mind. The empiric part is aimed at receiving and processing of information through quality and quantity research. All respondents were general nurses and nursing students. The main focus of this thesis was to find the balance scale between nursing pragmatism and humanism and view the opinion of nurse while bringing those philosophical opinions into practice. Regarding to the results of this thesis it is obvious that there is a space for both of these philosophical trends though it is not particularly easy to mark which of these trends may currently prevail. At the same time there is not a clear opinion of participating nurses about bringing these trends into use. It proves that the exploitation of humanism and pragmatism elements is quite individual regarding the time and circumstances. Hypothesis and questions of research are evaluated within the final chapters. The results of this thesis reflect the constant problems which are generally recognised by both the nurses and the students of the nursing. Among the main problems of nurses are too much work and the lack of time. The last part of this thesis contains the attachments, which are related to the empiric part (such as questionnaires and question topics) and they present an idea of thematic supervisory plan, which would be aimed at solving the current problematic situation of a nursing practice.

Possibility of implementation Fromm´s freedom on Hayek´s liberal order
Soukup, Michal ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Toman, Prokop (referee)
This work is strictly theoretical reasoning and comparation of the two important trains of thought, humanistic socialism and liberal competition, which conflict with each other in everyday events of the present world. I am trying in this work to consider arguments, which F.A. Hayek is using to defend his idea about functioning of a liberal order which according to him absolutely spontaneusly creates the best possible environment for an assertion and development of a free individual and these arguments i am trying to follow subsequently with humanistic thinking of Erich Fromm placing the emphasis on his different conception of the individual but also spontaneus freedom and to analyse if it is possible for such individual who is humanly oriented to find full exercise of his inner needs and at the same time to remain useful member just of such society which Hayek submit us. Aim of this work is consideration of every discovered contrast of these two conceptions and thinking about humanistic ideas if they are for the liberal order only past drowned in selfish competitive acting or if they are still actual or if they even have opportunity to fully develop in such order. Benefit of this work I see first of all in the analysis of though not quite sought after but extremely actual problem if free individual is able to spontaneusly create such social order over the time in which his individuality may fully develop or if he dies out in unconconsciously created all embracing conformability.

ANDERLOVÁ, Jitka
This work is concerned with four parts of travel volumes from Czech humanism. These volumes were chosen on the base of their quality and because of their localities too. They are selected by authors. The works which are analysed are Deník o jízdě a putování pana Lva z Rožmitálu a z Blatné z Čech až na konec světa by Václav Šašek from Bířkov, Cesta z Prahy do Benátek a odtud potom po moři až do Palestiny by Oldřich Prefát, Cesta Kryštofa Haranta z Polžic a Bezdružic a na Pecce by Kryštof Harant and Příhody Václava Vratislava z Mitrovic by Václav Vratislav from Mitrovice. The tryvel book of Václav Šašek was chosen because of number Europian cities he visited and also because of time its originate. We chosen the works of Kryštof Harant and Oldřich Prefát because of the same choice of aimed locality and their possibility to compare with the fact that Harant{\crq}s Cesta was introduced as the first thanks to the broadest descriptions and longer way of travelling. The travel book of Václav Vratislav from Mitrovice was categorized due to different aim of the way and also because of different stylistics. At first we will define the term a travel book and bring in its evolution, we are going to introduce the authors of chosen magazines briefly and then we will pay attention to their works. We will map their achieved ways, we will get closer to localities, which were visited by authors, we will learn about former customs, traditions and inhabitants from those countries and everything we will get into the historical context. The aim of my work isn´t to determine the worthiest travel book, but mark out the specifics of the each work and find out on the one hand what are the differences and on the other hand the correspondence among themselves.
