Main objective of this work was to determine what is their idea of social ethics of the profession, the Code of Ethics and its use in everyday practice. The research question for all social workers was: What is your vision about the ethics of social work and its use in practice? In the theoretical part of this work I was gathering informations and knowledge from already processed publications that deal with the topic of ethics, code of ethics, a holistic approach and fundamental human rights, in conjunction with social work. The research part took place in the form of qualitative research method of questioning when I was using the technique of in-depth interview with invidual social workers. The sample was made up of 10 social workers who were chosen in a random manner, then introduced to the theme of my work, and also they were assured about preserving of anonymity and their own personal data. The selection was based on the principle of voluntariness and willingness to active participation in research studies. Respondents come from different types of organizations. In the research part I was working with the material that I have received from individual social workers during the data collection.I have categorized this material by topic areas, which have a similar content. In the discussion I am comparing statements of my subjects with the authors' opinions, which I have gather on the theoretical part.Specifically, in what their opinions agree upon and how they differ. The conclusion is devoted to overall summary of the contributions from the respondents and I am suggesting possible solutions to the problems in practice.
Motivational factors in the selection of study fields of Special Pedagogy and Rehabilitation and Psychosocial Care for Handicapped Children, Adults and Seniors
MEDOVÁ, Šárka
This Bachelor´s thesis deals with the motivational factors when selecting fields of study in Special Education and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Care for children, adults and seniors. The concept of motivation is not important only in the professional life of a person. Motivation is the motive which leads towards one´s set objective. The choice of a branch of study depends on many factors that can influence it. Continue studying can be a family tradition, or it is only seen from the economical point of view, with an idea of a better economic security. Some people see selecting their field of study as a way of self-realization. The aim of this thesis is to determine the most important motives that influence students of Special Education and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Care for children, adults and seniors at Faculty of Health and Social Studies in České Budějovice when selecting their field of study. The secondary aim of the thesis is to determine a level of satisfaction of examined fields of study and professional training. Quantitative research methods, in this case questionnaires, were used during the research. The questionnaires were anonymous and each included 18 questions that were mostly closed or semi-closed questions. From the 7thApril to the 10th April 2014, the questionnaires were distributed to full-time students studying Bachelor´s programs of examined fields. The total number of respondents was 120, 115 of them answered. The majority of respondents were women. According to the research, the students studying Special Education and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Care for children, adults and seniors studied mostly at secondary vocational schools specialized in health care. Other secondary schools were secondary vocational schools specialized in pedagogy, chosen by the students studying Special Education, and secondary grammar schools chosen by the students studying Psychosocial Rehabilitation Care. The most respondents studying Special Education have chosen this field in order to continue in the same field they studied at secondary school. This may lead to satisfaction that they have made a good decision when selecting a secondary school and reinforce their idea of future profession. We can notice a similar development for the field of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Care. However, in this case, there is a high number of students who studied secondary grammar schools, which might be caused by searching the right specialization or by influencing their choice. The most common answer to the question about motivation was that anybody from the family was not a role model. This is related to another examined fact: in most cases, the choice of the field of study has not been influenced by anybody else, the choice has been made by respondents themselves. That is why they have chosen a school where they can use their interests and where they can study what they enjoy. A high number of respondents were also influenced by their after-school activities. Just a minimal percentage of respondents have chosen their field of study form their negative experience. Almost a half of the respondents have experience with a handicapped person from their family or surroundings. The majority of the respondents, studying the examined fields of study, is satisfied with the curriculum, only a small part of them is not satisfied or sure with the field of study. The respondents studying Special Education feel they deepen their interest in the field of study thanks to the professional training they practise; to a lesser extent so do the respondents studying Psychosocial Rehabilitation Care. The respondents from both fields of study agree that their field of study make them surer about their ideas of future professions.

LEBEDOVÁ, Kristýna
The theoretical part defines a helping profession itself. Next, there is defined the term stress - its causes, symptoms, effects, stress reactions and ways of its coping. As for causes, I define four basic stressors, which affect individuals in their everyday life. These are physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial stressors. As a follow-up I write about caused somatic and behavioural reactions due to the stress. The auxiliary part summarizes selected options of stress elimination with help of simple points, such as correct breathing, sport activities, a mental hygiene. The practical part summarizes a research carried out at the Home Pístina. There were asked two basic research questions. Those find out a stress impact on the Home personnel caused by their performed work and also look for diversity of stress between social services workers and operational staff. Data collection was carried out through both quantitative and qualitative methods. The initial collection of information was collected by using questionnaire forms. Subsequently, those data were verified by semi-structured interviews with four employees. The thesis is concluded by research results. There I inform about the necessity of motivational training and also a need to consider on-going supervision of the all home employees, as so far these sessions have taken place only with social services workers.

The motivation for the social work profession
KOŽURIKOVÁ, Magda
The thesis deals with the motivation that leads social workers to the choice of this profession. It refers mainly to the fact that the social work profession does not always act on the basis of pure motives, but sometimes its motives to help people can be not entirely correct. Despite this fact it cannot be said that such employee is unfit for social work. The crucial thing is to become aware of the source of the desire to help others and to learn to work with it. The theoretical part of the thesis should lead the readers who are involved in helping professions to think about what their motivation to be a social worker is and to use their knowledge for the benefit of their work and their clients. At the end of the theoretical part I deal with the burnout syndrome which may be caused by unresolved shady motives for a worker and also the question of the proper motivation and taking care of it. The practical part contains a study carried out by means of questionnaire, which was designed for social workers / social service workers in organizations if the Moravian-Silesian Region. It deals with the study of motivation (the motivation in choosing their profession, how the length of practice affects the motivation, the care of worker motivation in organizations, positive and negative motivation factors).
Supervision in the Helping Professions
AUBRECHTOVÁ, Kateřina
In Czech literature, supervision is usually referred to as inspection or overview. Certain authors claim that supervision would not be supervision without either of them. Supervision provides an overview, which is important in solving occupational issues and monitoring the workers' quality and professionalism. The theoretical section explains the basic terms that are related to the title of the essay. It explains the word supervision, auxiliary professions, supervision and its forms, objectives, methods and a supervision contract. The text also specifies who can submit supervision, which criteria the supervisor must fulfil and the relation between the supervisor and the supervised. The essay determines supervising methods (and techniques) used in selected institutions and reveals whether and how the supervisor allows for typology of the clients with whom the institution works. It also ascertains how the supervised persons perceive the supervisors. I specified three research issues: 1. What does supervision give to the supervised? 2. Do the supervisors apply different supervising methods according to the client's typology? 3. Does the supervisor heed typology of clients that are a target group of the given institution? In the practical section of the essay, I applied a form of qualitative research with regard to the specified objectives. For collection of data, I used a research method based on queries and an associated research method of semi-structured interviews. I appended the queries with an observation method. Eighteen persons participated in the interviews. Fifteen of the supervised persons came from three different institutions (a Charity Home for Mothers with Children, a Nursing Home in Havlíčkův Brod and an Institute of Social Care in Zboží) and three persons were supervisors, one from each institution. The essay may help to improve knowledge of persons with auxiliary professions on the supervision and facilitate supervision in various institutions with regard to the clients' typologies.
Mental Hygiene as a Fundamental Premise of Prevention of Burnout Syndrome in Selected High-Risk Professions
RYBÁČKOVÁ, Ilga
Helping professions are characterized by high demands on the personality of a helping person. A lot of researches show that members of these professions are at risk of the burnout syndrome. Mental hygiene serves to maintain mental health and is the basis for prevention of the burnout syndrome. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to reveal the relationship between the incidence of symptoms of burnout and compliance or violation of the mental hygiene principles. Another aim of the research is to find out, whether the members of the selected high?risk professions know about and keep the mental hygiene principles, and also to find out, whether the compliance with the mental hygiene principles has impact on the burnout prevention. The theoretical part, first of all, characterizes concepts of helping professions, psychological stress, its cause and symptoms. Burnout syndrome is then described in details ? definition, cause, symptoms and treatment. Then, the main part of the thesis follows. It is dedicated to mental hygiene as a prevention of burnout. Particular aspects of mental hygiene, such as healthy lifestyle, diet, sleep hygiene or relaxation techniques are described here. In the end other factors influencing the burnout are mentioned - supervision, self- assessment, and interpersonal relationships. To achieve the objectives, qualitative research was carried out, realized by the method of questioning, technique of the non-standardized interview. The respondents were chosen from 4 high-risks professions ? teachers, nurses, social workers and rescue workers. Quota selection was carried out, based on the results of Burnout Measure questionnaire, which examines symptoms of burnout. The research has shown that the representatives from the selected professions are aware of burnout syndrome and know mental hygiene principles. The research has also shown that integration of mental hygiene principles into lives of helping people has impact on the burnout prevention. The interviews also proved impact of other factors. Above all, good relationships at the workplace and supervision can have positive influence.
Supervision as a form of support in helping professions
FICALOVÁ, Barbora
The thesis title is Supervision as a Form of Support in the Helping Professions. The translation of the term of supervision is an insight or inspection into a particular problem. Unfortunately, there are still facilities in which supervision is rather considered as inspection. Currently, there is an effort to prove the usefulness of supervision. To the introduction of supervision as part of good practice for workers in helping professions contributes the document issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs ?Quality Standards for Social Care Services". Especially in helping professions, this topic is an up-to-date subject and supervision is becoming an integral part of functioning of many institutions. In the theoretical section the basic terms such as stress and burnout in helping professions, supervision, its forms, goals and tools are defined. It deals with the supervision process, supervision contract and quality standards for social care services. The practical part consists of a qualitative research. The research was conducted in five organizations in České Budějovice. The information collection was carried out using interrogation techniques, semi-structured interviews with supervised workers, supervisors, and supervision contracting authorities. The objective of the thesis was to identify whether the supervised persons consider supervision to have a supportive or another function. The data were compiled into case reports and the common points compared. The research has found that supervision does provide most respondents with some kind of support. In addition to its supporting function, supervision is seen as having an educational function. The research results document views of supervised persons on supervision, which may be beneficial for contracting authorities, supervisors and the whole organizations. The results may also serve for a better orientation in the issue of supervision.
