Dental hygiene of pre-school children in the kindergartens in the district Jindřichův Hradec
ŠTONCNEROVÁ, Helena
The theme of dental hygiene of preschool children is a very current issue nowadays as ever growing importance is being ascribed to it. Regular and thorough removal of microbial dental plaque using appropriate technique plays an irreplaceable role in the prevention of dental caries, along with regular appointments with a dentist. The baccalaureate paper briefly maps the history and status quo of dental medicine, focusing primarily on the state of oral health of preschool children and prevention of dental caries. The theoretical chapter contains a description of teeth, the difference between temporary and permanent dentition, correct tooth cleaning technique, the frequency of tooth cleaning, and dental hygiene aids. The objective of the baccalaureate paper was to find out how and how often the nursery schools in the former district of Jindřichův Hradec attend to the dental hygiene of their pupils. Whether they are acquainted with the correct technique of tooth cleaning, the right grip of the tooth brush, and whether the subject of dental hygiene forms part of specialized lectures in these nursery schools were themes of my interest, too. Another part of my paper contains a draft of an educational program about dental hygiene, based on the results of a questionnaire that was part of my survey, with the aim of devising methodological instructions for preschool teachers as a way of promoting the adoption of proper habits in dental hygiene amongst preschool children.

Today's modern society use mass media on a daily basis as a modern way of communication. Lot of us can't imagine everyday life without them. They are surrendering us with non-stop flow of various informations. Everyday we spent a lot of time with media and sometimes we even don't realize, what risks are menacing us and others. Media are capable of manipulating with people without even noticing it by common population. They are influencing their opinions, behavior and thinking. Kids and teen-agers belong to the most threatened groups, because they can be easily manipulated. This group is not capable of realizing of influence of media on their behavior. Experts are pointing out on the influence, which they have on behavior and also on evolution process of personality. Since pre-school age kids are confronted with mass media frequently. They are not developmentally enough adult, so they cannot settle with traps, which are lurking on them, without help. That's why there is necessity to teach kids how to work properly with media and use informations delivered by them rationally. Importance of medial enlightenment consists in the fact, that when kids are exposed to the influence of media, which can be so great, that it can even cause mental disorder. Besides behavior, statements, opinions and world views are being influenced as well. That's why prevention is very important and this task could be fulfilled by medial education. When it will reach mental disorder, it is necessary to bring a team of experts and immediately start to work with affected children. There is special branch of pedagogy called etopedy, which is concerned with these problems. It's not engaged only in training and educating of children with mental disorders, but it's also looking for the reason, that causes this disorder. Its primary goal is to incorporate kid into society again and make sure, that it doesn't break social standards anymore. Tactile book as one of tools for visually impaired children development
FLÍČKOVÁ, Radka
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the topic of tactile books as means of the development of a child with visual impairments. Its theoretical part is divided into four chapters which handle an individual with visual impairments, classification of people with visual impairments, specific development of a child of preschool age with this kind of impairment, tactile viewing, tyflographics and production of books with tactile illustrations. The main aim of my thesis was to find out the opinions of the parents who have children with visual impairments on tactile books and also to find out which possibilities these books offer to children. For that, I have specified seven survey questions. The first survey question was focused on where it is possible to borrow the tactile books. The second question concerns whether these books are of a good quality, interesting for parents and children and if there is enough of them. The third question dealt with the differences in reading of tactile books which depend on the rate of the handicap and child´s gender. In the fourth question children´s reactions to these books were examined. In the fifth question the parents were asked whether they find these books useful for their children or not. Then in the sixth question I examined which abilities of the disabled children are developing during the work with this book. Finally, the seventh question dealt with factors which influence the work of preschool child with the tactile book. The examined target group consists of parents of children with visual impairments in the Czech Republic and a blind preschool boy. The qualitative research strategy was used and the data were collected on the basis of semi-structured interviews, observation and document analysis. Most of the families have their books sent by post. The waiting time for the book depends on whether it is available or not. According to the provided answers, parents have enough books and they consider them to be of a good quality. They mostly said that a parent reads aloud to a child, tries to get him involved in the story, explains and helps with tactile reading. Blind children are usually first focused on a detail and there is an equal ratio of boys and girls. The children do not have any problems with materials during tactile viewing. Mostly the parents said that children use the book several times in a row. The parents see the main benefit of these books in the fact that their combine auditive sensation with tactile sensation, develop communication skills, imagination and they also introduce the world of healthy people to these children. Considering the results of my investigation, I would say that the tactile book can be perfect tool for improving the child´s manual dexterity, speech and communication, space and space-time orientation, tactile and auditory perception, memory, thought, attention, social relations. My experience gained during observation of the blind boy working with the tactile book leads me to the conclusion that many factors such as motivation, attention, the person working with the child, place, mood, position of the child, health condition and the book itself are important.
