Digitization of film material in the context of film archives
Machová, Jana ; Hanzlík, Jan (advisor) ; Zelený, Martin (referee)
The thesis is devoted to the topic of film material archiving, digitization, digital restoration and possibilities of preserving a digital copy of the film. In the theoretical part, the reader will be introduced to the basic concepts related to topic of film material preservation and digitization. The digitization process will be explained both in theory and on practical examples from digitization of film Old Czech Legends. Based on the theoretical knowledge from the first part, the situation regarding digitization of film material in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic will be discussed in the practical part. This thesis aims to find the fundamental differences in film material digitization approaches in these two countries.

Methodic handbook for conservtion of old landraces of herbaceous agricultural crops
Holubec, Vojtěch ; Dušek, Karel ; Dušková, Elena ; Doležalová, Ivana ; Hýbl, Miroslav ; Kopecký, Pavel ; Smékalová, Kateřina ; Stavělíková, Helena
The methodic handbook recommends management of basic cultivation practices for landraces of herbaceous crops in „on farm“ plantations. The materials were collected during field excursions of authors or gathered from germplasm collections. These materials have cultural-historical value and represent old habits and national identity of Czech inhabitants. Representative landraces were sellected for crop groups: Cereals, legumes, vegetables, condiments and medicinal plants.

Portable and Miniaturized Separation Techniques Applicable for Food and Biotechnology Analysis
Dvořák, Miloš ; Pospíchal, Jan (referee) ; Bednář,, Petr (referee) ; Rittich, Bohuslav (advisor)
Capillary electrophoresis was used for determination of 6 fractions of caseins. Those fractions were measured in 144 samples of cow’s milk originated from the feeding experiment focused on explanation the influence of the feeding onto casein productions. In this work were separated 6 fraction of caseins first time with total resolution of the peaks. Capillary electrophoresis was applied for determination of short-chain organic acids during fermentation of wine must. It was compared the fermentation of must fermented by different yeast. The difference of profile short-chain organic acids during fermentation were not statistically significant. The once difference was in the utilisation of the malic acid and production of the lactic acid. A portable miniaturized system for medium pressure liquid chromatography was developed. The components were tested and system was used for the isocratic and gradient elution of various analytes (food dyes, parabens). New line of electroluminescent diodes (LEDs) for deep-UV areas of wavelength based on a different materials substrate was characterised. The new line was compared with old line LEDs. The new line LEDs was incorporated in deep-UV absorbance detectors. Detectors were characterised and tested for a detection various analytes in modes flow injection analysis and chromatography separation. First time was characterised this new line of the LEDs and the origin of the parasitic emission band produced by deep-UV LEDs light sources was explained. This origin is given by disturbances of a materials substrates. This work is a contribution for an advance of low-cost and portable systems and detection devices in the field of analytical chemistry.

The Overture to the First Version of the Opera King and Charcoal Burner
Myslivcová, Eva
The issue of different versions of works of music is one that is discussed in the case of Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904), and in a certain sense it is connected with the theme "old and new", when an older, earlier, or first version becomes the basis for a newer one. This text focuses on a specific example of different versions, that of the overture to the first setting of Dvořák's opera King and Charcoal Burner from the year 1871. An overture which, as an integral part of the opera, was based on the musical material contained in the work, which eventually was never performed. And at the same time an overture that was the only part of this opera to "survive", was later transformed by the composer himself to a concert overture and thus became an independent work, while the opera's libretto was set to new music. This is in a nutshell the rather complicated genesis of the opera King and Charcoal Burner, during which the Concert Overture in F Major took shape as a new composition, created from the musical material of an old one.
