Retaining Walls
Pospíšil, Jan ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The objective of thesis is to create a comprehensive overwiew of the most commonly used retaining walls in the Czech Republic and to characterize their properties, method of assessment, advantages, disadvantages or causes of failures. Based on these findings will be designed selected type of retaining wall in Rebešovice.
Excavation pit in Olomouc
Plevová, Lenka ; Masopust,, Jan (referee) ; Miča, Lumír (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis focuses on sheeting of a construction pit in Faculty hospital of Olomouc. The purpose of this thesis is to design sheeting construction and describe technological process of buiding the chosen construction type which is in this work represented by once anchored pile wall with the large axial distance. In adition, sheet pile wall was analysed in two various geotechnical programs, GEO5 and Plaxis 2D. Furthermore, this work contains a view and a brief description of other methods used for sheeting constructions. In the end, this thesis deals with economic comparison of designed type of pile wall with another two types, tangent pile wall and secant pile wall.
Foundation of Parking House
Kudelás, Jaroslav ; Boštík,, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The result of bachelor’s thesis is a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the foundations of the current options. In the practical part is specifically created static design of most exposed pile, technology and drawings specified object.
Ph.D. Workshop 2010 Proceedings
Blaheta, Radim ; Kolcun, Alexej
These proceedings contain abstracts and contributions presented at the fifth Ph.D. Workshop of the Institute of Geonics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The workshop is split into two parts held simultaneously in Ostrava and in Brno, which concern geotechnics, rock mechanics, geophysics and mathematical modeling (Ostrava) and physical and social geography (Brno). The main aim is to bring together the Ph.D. students studying and working or having their supervisors at the Institute of Geonics AS CR. For the whole research community, the workshop gives a possibility to see new results and follow the progress in work in the field of Ph.D. training, which is considered as very important for fulfilling the mission of the institute in the society and training researchers for the future development of the institute.
Ph. D. Workshop 2009 Proceedings
Blaheta, Radim ; Kolcun, Alexej
These proceedings contain contributions presented at the fourth Ph.D. Workshop of the Institute of Geonics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic held in this year simultaneously in Ostrava and in Brno on November 19, 2009. Ph.D. training belongs among the most important activities not only of the universities but also of the institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Note that in total more than 2000 Ph.D. students are being trained at the institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It guarantees that the knowledge and experience from the research will be forwarded and extended, which is of principal importance for the development of the research and the whole academic system.
Modelování a simulace složitých geotechnických problémů
Blaheta, Radim
This paper provides three examples of chalenging geotechnical problems which require application of mathematical modelling and use of efficient numerical methods and powerful parallel computers. These examples give a motivation and exploit methods developed within the project MSTEP:Modelling and Simulation of complex Technical Problems.
Aplikace paralelních výpočtů v geotechnice
Starý, Jiří ; Blaheta, Radim ; Kohut, Roman
The paper concerns the mathematical modelling of elasticity and thermo-elasticity problems arising from two challenging geotechnical tasks. The modelling leads to solving the sequence of large-scale systems of linear equations. For such systems, we use high performance iterative solvers being able to run on parallel computers.
Náročné uplatnění iteračních řešičů v geotechnice
Blaheta, Radim ; Byczanski, Petr ; Jakl, Ondřej ; Kohut, Roman ; Kolcun, Alexej ; Krečmer, Karel ; Starý, Jiří
In many fields of science and engineering, we can see challenging tasks, which require application of mathematical modelling. The physical phenomena are simulated with the aid of the finite element method and this simulation leads to huge computational demands, which are concentrated mainly to the solution of large-scale systems of equations. For such systems, we need high performance iterative solvers.
Peculiarities of the limit state design theory in geotechnics
Koudelka, Petr
The paper shows the basic peculiarities and some examples of influence of the concept Limit State Design Theory in geotechnics.
