New technologies for an efficient operation of biogas plants
Uhlířová, Marcela ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on new technologies enhancing efficient operation of biogas plants. The introductory part describes operation of biogas plant, its products and issues. The main part of the thesis deals with description of three progressive technologies concerning biogas plants such as dry fermentation, hydrothermal pretreatment and biogas upgrading to biomethane. For each technology there is a description, advantages and disadvantages with regard to their practical applicability.
Energy yields per one hectare of land in the South Moravian Region
Plášek, Tomáš ; Bayer, Robert (referee) ; Jandová, Kristýna (advisor)
This bachelor thesis compares methods of producing elektricity in biogas plant, in thermal power plants by burning biomass, in solar power plants and compares it with production of energy of fuel cells and the energy from biofuels, like biodiesel and bioethanol. It compares the energy yields of different energy production methods and evaluates their advantages and disadvantages. It compares the energy content of these fuels by model vehicle range.
Estimation of biogas production in biogas plant
Heger, Jan ; Vondra, Marek (referee) ; Touš, Michal (advisor)
The focus of this thesis are calculation methods for biogas yield estimation in biogas plant. The aim is to get acquainted with calculation methods and to determine their accuracy by calculation. Refining biogas production estimates can be useful for case studies, feasibility studies, or technical-economic assessments. The available calculation methods are tested on a case study where a comparison with the operational data measured in the biogas plant in Valašské Meziříčí is accomplished using the extended Buswell method and tabulated values. Comparing this case study, a result was obtained where the calculation by the Buswell method reached very accurate values, whereas the calculation by tabulated values differed more from the measured values and the method achieved a less accurate result.
Monitoring and control of processes in biogas plants
Trubač, Daniel ; Vondra, Marek (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of management of biogas plants. It deals with the creation of biogas and the functioning of the biogas plant. A separate part is devoted to the description of factors influencing the efficiency and stability of the fermentation process and the methods of their measurement. The final part introduces the latest technologies in the field of monitoring and control of biogas plants. The use of decision support systems in biogas plants seems to be a very promising direction for further development.
Energy use of biomass
Ošťádal, Michal ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to search for technologies for biomass conversion with subsequent energy utilization. At the beginning of the work is analyzed the nature of biomass as an energy source. The next part deals with individual technologies. The following section deals with combustion and biogas chains. The penultimate chapter deals with chosen energy sources. The last chapter is statistical processing of emissions, mining, electricity and heat production from renewable sources and biomass.

BRŮŽEK, Vojtěch
In this bachelor thesis I focused on biomass used, biogas production, product, technological parts and station equipment and the operation of biogas stations.
Procesy a fungování bioplynové stanice
ŘEZNÍK, Luboš
It is necessary to look for options of more rational use of energy and find a way how to make the most of renewable energy. As we can see, there has been a huge increase in biogas stations in Czech Republic since 2010. The most used in our country are agricultural biogas stations. The feedstock into a biogas station is mainly manure, liquid manure, crop residues, corn silage, biomass from grasslands, energy crops etc. This bachelor thesis summarizes the history and the basic characteristics of biomass where we are interested in the use of biomass for energy purposes. The thesis also includes the explanation of the history of production and use of biogas in the Czech Republic. In the practical part I analyzed and explained the function of the biogas station Klučenice in the local agricultural establishment. In the thesis is explained how the biogas station was projected. Then I focused in detail on technical operations units, where I made comprehensive evaluations. I split the created operating units into 7 groups, subsequently described in detail and added tables and graphs. In the second phase of practical part I typified and described the annual consumption of vegetal and animal ingredients. Then I made a list of the total electricity production in the biogas station Klučenice and assessed its economic strength.
Fermentation of biogas plants
Mrůzková, Karolína ; Vičíková, Magda (referee) ; Svěrák, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the study of biogas plant technologies, mainly those based on the wet anaerobic digestion. In the experimental part of the thesis, biogas yield of the substrates (corn silage, corn hominy, pig slurry, poultry droppings, sugar beet pulp) is measured in a fermentation test. Based on the real biogas yields of a particular biogas plant, where the determined substrates are used, the relative error of the fermentation test was calculated.
Measurement of selected physical properties of the waste water from biogas plant
Ondruška, Vojtěch ; Zejda, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis is the experimental measurement of physical and chemical properties of the wastewater from biogas plants. Thesis concisely describes wastewater and its origin. The main part is dedicated to the design of experiments and to the detailed description of the measurement of selected properties with the available laboratory methods. Measured data are evaluated and compared to literature. The results of this thesis can be employed to further develop the equipment for thickening wastewater from biogas plants or to other scientific activity in the field of waste management in agriculture.
Integration of a technology for digestate thickening in a biogas plant
Miklas, Václav ; Touš, Michal (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
This diploma thesis is mainly focused on the digestate thickening in a biogas plant. First, overview of the biogas technology in the Czech Republic is presented. Furthermore, problems with waste heat utilization and processing of fermentation residues (digestate) are described in more detail. Based on the research, multi-stage flash (MSF) evaporation was chosen as the technology for the digestate thickening. The main part deals with the integration of the chosen technology into a biogas plant process. The programming language Python was used to simplify the given task. In the preliminary stage, a complex mathematical model of a biogas plant was created, focusing particularly on the mass and energy balances. Subsequently, a computational model of the MSF evaporator was programmed. A procedure for the integration was suggested using the sensitivity analyses. Additionally, the model of a biogas plant was extended with the MSF evaporator. The key outcome of the thesis is a technical-economic analysis in which the impact of digestate transport price and electricity feed-in tariff on payback period is investigated. The results suggest profitability of MSF evaporator for biogas plants without subsidized feed-in tariff. Contrastingly, installation of MSF evaporator in older biogas plants with subsidized feed-in tariff can be economically viable only in cases of significantly longer transport distances.
