Physiotherapy for patients with rotator cuff lesion
PLÍHAL, Lukáš
I chose "Physiotherapy for Patients with Rotator Cuff Lesion" as a topic of the theses. This topic was chosen because I was interested in indispensable function of rotator cuff to stability and total shoulder joint functionality. Moreover, it is relatively often disorder of shoulder joint and that is why I wanted to complete my knowledge in this area. In the theoretical part I am focusing on the proper function of shoulder joint altogether. Following chapters in this part are explaining kinesiology of shoulder joint, clinical units of rotator cuff lesion and subsequent options of physiotherapy. In the practical part I am dealing with the quality research, where I look into the sample of three patients. Two of these patients were affected by rupture of rotator cuff, which was treated by operation, the last patient suffered from impingement syndrome. At the beginning the patient was physically examined. This was followed by eight therapies which were mainly focused on improving movement and muscle strength in shoulder joint. Patients affected by rupture were examined after six months after the surgery. The patient with impingement syndrome was examined after two weeks after the last therapy. According to results it is significant that there was improvement in movement and muscle strength in shoulder joint for all of the patients. The theses can be used by professional public, physiotherapists, possibly by students of physiotherapy for getting basic knowledge about rotator cuff, its pathology or possible physiotherapy procedures.
Arthroscopic surgery of shoulder from the nurse's and patient's perspective.
ČERNÁ, Nikol
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to find problems of preoperative and postoperative care from the point of view of the patient. The author of the bachelor thesis set another goal to find out the peculiarities of nursing care before and after arthroscopy of the shoulder. Information gathered from patients and nurses are categorized and compared. According to the research we find out how patients perceive arthroscopic operation of the shoulder and the related hospitalization. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with the history of surgical disciplines. It deals with the creation of orthopedics as a separate discipline, with the beginnings of anesthesia and with the need for a sterile environment in operating room. It describes anatomy of the shoulder joint, examination methods, indications and contraindications for arthroscopic operation of the shoulder joint. We focus on arthroscopy itself, describing the process of surgery and the types of arthroscopic procedures. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis is contained a research survey, which was realized for this work. We determine research questions for interview with patients and nurses in the department of orthopedic surgery. We use a pre-prepared semi-structured interview. Questions concern pre-operative preparation and post-operative nursing care in point of view of patient. The questions are focused also of patient awareness. We are looking for peculiarities of nursing care from the point of view of the general nurse. As an indication of the peculiarity of nursing care, the nurses have reviewed the sensitivity and momentum of the operating limb and the thorough hygiene of the operating field. Pre-operative preparation was found to be more positive in patients. And in post-operative care, it was found that there was too little active search to help patients. In the thesis, in connection with the realized research, has created an information brochure for patients, that contains results of the research survey.

The nursing care of the patient after Arthroscopy of the shoulder
JELÍNKOVÁ, Petra
The theoretical part describes the history of orthopaedics development, the anatomy of the shoulder joint, clinical examination of the shoulder joint, injuries divided into the shoulder joint bones fractures and other injuries of the shoulder joint and the arthroscopy itself. This part is followed by the description of the client's needs in the postoperative period, which include self-sufficiency; furthermore the client's pain and the rehabilitation after surgery. The practical part is focused on clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint and nurses attending to clients after the procedure. The thesis was compiled as a qualitative research. The technique of data collection was carried out using a semi-structured interview. The research part included three research questions. Based on these questions, we examined the role of nurses in the care of clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. Furthermore, the negative factors most clients perceive after the surgery and what the specifics of nursing care for clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint are analysed. The aim of the thesis was to investigate the role of nurses in the care for clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. The most important tasks include education of clients before the procedure and during the hospitalization. The preoperative preparation consists of the explanation of the informed consent to the client, the preparation of the surgical field, legs bandaging, the management of preoperative examinations and the administration of the prescribed medication Other objectives were to determine the specifics of nursing care for the clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. The specifics of nursing care reported by the nurses themselves including checking the blood circulation and peripheral sensitivity of the operated upper limb, shimming the operated arm, increased need for hygiene in the armpit of the operated extremity. The third objective was to identify the problems perceived by the clients after the arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. The main problems perceived by the clients included pain. Furthermore, they mentioned the lack of privacy, discomfort in association with the selected fixation and the lack of information about the need for the fixation system. The answers from clients and the nurses were divided into individual categories and then compared in the interaction between the nurse and the client.

Physiotherapeutic Techniques in Shoulder Joint Instability using Kinesio Taping Method
PELEŠKOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of physiotherapeutic techniques in shoulder joint instability using the Kinesio Taping Method. It is divided into two parts. In the first theoretical part you can find a chapter dealing with anatomy of the shoulder, biomechanics, kinesiology and instability itself, its types, possible causes, symptoms and treatment including the possibility of conservative as well as operative therapies. The second practical part focuses on various examinations, methods that can be used. There are also the results of the qualitative research which was based on casuistries. I examined four patients at the age range from 21 to 30. The patients underwent an in-and-out kinesiological analysis, a therapy where I tried to find suitable methods for stabilization of the shoulder joint. I also made a long term rehabilitation plan. The first goal of my thesis was to verify the effects of the chosen physiotherapy. The second goal was to prove the suitability of the therapeutic method Kinesio? Taping into therapy. The question of the research was if the planned therapy can improve the shoulder joint instability in case of the chosen patients. Improvement was reached in all cases, however it was not striking. The biggest factor was the cooperation during the therapy, especially the excercises at home. Each person preferred different exercises and different types of Kinesio Taping methods. This thesis can be used in the physiotherapeutic practices and as educational material for patients switch this diagnosis.
