The Aspects of the Influence to Acquire Job of the Men and the Women in the Czech Republic

Diploma work takes attention mainly at entry conditions for women and men in labour market, what sort of questions are asked while entrance interviews, whether the gender of a person influences discriminating questions of an employer, whether it is considered to be more important than the abilities, education level and practice achieved by an expectant. Research concentrates on choise gender stereotypes connecting with the position of men and women in their job too, for example on goodwill of employer realize to accommodate workers with children to coordinate their family and working duties.
Dissimilarities in living of the psychical strain of men and women in the police of the Czech republic

This extended essay points out the problems of living of the psychical strain of men and women in the Police of the Czech Republic. It tries to reveal policemen´s work in the place of a criminal offence and to show some risks of this job in connexion with the influence of stress. The extended essay deals with some problems of an exacting character of the metioned occupation and the mutual comparsion of differences in living between both the sexes, origin and influence of stress on the man´s psychic as an individual. In addition to a simple division of successive parts and the organizational structure of the police, here are mentioned some descriptions and definitions of stress and its influence on the man´s sphere and areas. The essay tries to elucidate the criminologist´s work to a reader and to understand some stress situations in the execution af a policemen´s exacting job. It deals with women´s status in the society, too, namely both from a historical point of view and in the present as well. Some statistical data concerning the perpetrated criminal offences in the region of South Bohemia and numbers of policemen and policewomen are metioned here, too.
Prevention of Atherosclerosis in Women – Some Results from Outpatient Department in EuroMISE Centre

By atherosclerosis are affected men and women too, but it is given much less attention to these diseases in women. In the outpatient department of EuroMISE Centre in Prague, more women then men were examined. Women were older, their risk profile (factors antropometric, clinical, socio-economic and laboratory) was some better then in men, but not near to optimal values. It is necessary to bring advance attention to the investigation, prevention and the treatment of risk factors of atherosclerosis in women.
Responses in Národní listy to the Demand for Women's Voting Rights in 1906-1908

The focus of the essay is on Czech feminist struggles at the beginning of the 20th century. On this period women achieved substantial concessions in the area of education. They however, became aware that to achieve equality in other areas, they would have to achieve voting rights and the possibility for influencing politics. Their struggle for voting rights was reflected in daily press, particulary Národní listy. The author covers in her essay years 1906-1908, when women's activity was very important and began to be unexpectadly rewarding.
The International Violence Against Women Survey: Initial Results from the Research in the Czech Republic

The first part of the paper looks at the main objectives of the research, the areas it targeted, and its methodological approaches, and the second part summarises some of the main observations that the research led to. In the closing part of the paper an analysis is made of the factors contributing to an increase or decrease in the risk of the victimisation of women, especially with regard to the characteristics of the female respondents in the survey.

The paper analyzes the scientific carrier and accomplishments of Czech physical chemist and radiobiologist Jarmila PETROVA (1900-1972) against the institutional background of education and scientific research in the field of radiology in Czechoslovakia during the first half of the 20th century, and in comparison to the activities of her male colleagues, physicists and radiologists František BĚHOUNEK (1898-1973) and Vilém SANTHOLZER (1903-1970).

Female students enrolled at the Faculty of Forestry in Prague only in the 1930s. After WW2, more women in Czechoslovakia started to study forestry engineering. The number of female forestry engineers increased ten times during the period in question in Czechoslovakia. Female graduates had problems to find suitable job until the 1980s. Women forestry engineers earned less than comparably educated men. Distance studies were practically unavailable to women until 1980s. The number of doctoral theses defended by women was extraordinarily low. Only 9 women were awarded academic degree (PhD) at the faculties of forestry in the Czech Lands between 1952 and 1989.
